bollocks - Steve did not mess up his facts

Please quote when you get the chance and I will have an answer for every quote you bring up.

People always use the fact that in HOC, Traveller had a different eye colour from Dassem from NOK. For the love of God, he is a freaking ascendant/God - Dont you reckon he can change his appearance if he chooses to.

Anyone who says Dassem is not traveller is ......... - I cant even think of a word to write - I will get kicked out from the forum

I haven't yet read NoK, but I've not read any actual proof in the main Malazan novels that Traveller is Dassem, however strong the evidence. So don't get too uppity.

uppity - lol

There is one sentence in NOK, I repeat, one sentence that tells you dassem is Traveller.

When you get to read NOK, then holla at me

The answer is Wolverine.

- Abyss, yes, again.

Anomander takes Karsa with points in round 10, even though Karsa gets the TKO.

But the more poignant poll is Chuck Norris vs Wolverine.

Rake would win. Sorry, Karsa's good but not THAT good. Hell he isn't even a clearly defined ascendent yet. At the most he's a pureblooded Toblaki (however you spell it) and equal to one of those 5 purebloods that Ironhands or Ironfist or whatever whooped up on. Hell, I don't even think Karsa could take on Apsalar at this point, much less Rake.

Karsa

-my sig says it all :)

I don't like how rake only needs to prick Karsa with that silly sword of his in order to kill him though

I think, based on Karsa innate power, that Rake would have to do more than simply scratch him. But I still say Rake would win. Not pwn. But still come out the victor

Didn't Rake onlyneed to scratch those Hounds of Shadow in GoTM?
I though that his *oh, so fancy* sword just needed to draw blod from it victims in order to chain them :)

It's really Quite simple.
they would fight. Rake would win and put karsa in Dragnipur
Once in Dragnipur, Karsa will find himself in Chains, start talking to Drakonus, who will inform him that he's stuck here forever. Then karsa will get properly mad, yell out "WITNESS" to Drakonus, and break the chains. And the Sword. From the inside. Then him and Rake would come out, and Rake will say something along the lines "I knew you could do it. Now let's go to Jacurucu and kill the CG"

Well, he gave a mortal wound to one of the hounds.

But the other one wouldn't have died otherwise, so we presume only a reasonable or small scatch would end someone's life and put them on the train to pull the wagon.

I've just started rereading GoTM(first book i have ever deciseded to read again) but i haven't read the whole Rake V Hounds, so my memory is a little foggy about the whole thing :)

Oh, and i would think that most of the information that we get in GoTM should be taken into acount in cases like this, if he only needs to scratch a Hound of shadow in GoTM, he should only need to scratch Karsa now :D

Not really. GotM was written a decade before the rest and there are several incongruencies with the rest of the series. It's generally regarded that if something in GotM contradicts something else or makes little sense in light of later revelations, then it's GotM that's wrong.

Not saying thats not true but in an interview I read from SE, he was asked about incongruencies and he replied that he was only aware of one or two.. one being gender change...so maybe we just dont have all the answers..

Is the gender change being eradicated from the later versions of GoTM?

I've always wanted to ask that but I've never got around to it. I hope so, small things like that should be changed, other bigger mistakes are best left unless they tarnish the book quite a bit.

It's things like QB shouting stupid things before he casts spells, and other important things never coming up again, like Tool suppressing magic (that might be still valid, but he's never mentioned it again, much like the sword). Also a few people change personality, not least Tayschrenn.

Not entirely relevant, but is Karsa the new 11th [Seguleh]? If so, all we need to do is wait until he decides to take a vacation in seguland.
