I want the prologue... Chapters.ca has a release date of July 22, 2008. Is that an actual date or just pulled out of their apsalar?

I have found Amazon to often be wrong...I'd wait for an official announcement....some of the mods/admins on this forum know...or will know soon.
Prologue should be here soon....just take a deep breath

June - 2008 for UK - don't live there can't comment on early availability
July - 2008 for Can. - look for books to be on shelves at your local Chapters/Indigo 2 weeks in advance
Anywhere in between for the rest of world, just keep looking it'll pop up.
The dates do sound realistic but not guaranteed and we could see it pushed back to August/September depending on how bantam press feels. Though if I remember correctly they have book signings planned so I don't really expect the release dates to change. Anyways keep your pants on jumping up and down screaming I want it isn't going to make it get here any faster. You'll get the prologues as soon as Hetan receives them from the publishers, which according to her last post should be soon:)
And by soon I mean at least a week or two.

Hey we got the cover art, that held us over for a few seconds!
I'm actually more excited about RotCG than TtH.

With regards to the book signings, do we know if they'll be strictly tied to release dates? As in, will it be a promotional tour signing old books, or just after TtH comes out? I ask merely so I dont book a holiday that month, giving me plenty of time to track down SE and force him to sign everything I own.

Here's what I received from the publicity lady at transworld -
The date I was given provisionally is early July.
I'm pretty sure you can take whatever you like along to a book signing - he's pretty approachable you know

2008 IS ERIKSON YEAR!
Transworld Publishers have big plans this year for author STEVEN ERIKSON and his epic fantasy sequence, The Malazan Book of the Fallen – hailed by his peers, critics and fans alike as the first great fantasy epic of the millennium.
In February they are publishing a special mass market paperback edition of the acclaimed and astounding first novel in the Malazan Book of the Fallen, Gardens of the Moon. Sporting the new cover look for the series, illustrated by Steve Stone, it includes an exclusive introduction written by the author and will be available at the extra special price of only £3.99.
April sees the publication of the paperback edition of Reaper’s Gale, the seventh chapter in what Erikson had always planned to be a 10 volume series. It will feature a teaser for the eagerly awaited next book.
And fans won’t have long to wait because in June, Erikson’s awesome saga enters its climactic final stages with the publication of the eighth book – Toll the Hounds. What’s more it’s the first time the main edition will be in hardcover.
And if that wasn’t enough, plans are currently being put in place for Erikson to visit the UK around publication of Toll the Hounds to attend bookshop readings, signings and events, and media interviews. Further details will be released shortly.
And rounding off a hefty year, in the Autumn, the trade paperback edition of Toll the Hounds is published, making it the perfect Christmas stocking filler for fantasy fans.

Why february? Surely you mean July?
I'm hoping that the date of SE's visit coincides with Hetan's malazan bbq, as then the collecton of malazan fanatics can descend on him on mass and badger him for answers . I' also hoping that my holiday at the end of July doesn't conflict, as if it does I'll have a truly horrible decision to make, malaz or holiday?

I wonder if we will see any new maps in Toll the Hounds. Yeah I know it takes us back to Genabackis...but we could have sub-plots involved in the main story taking place elsewhere...
we could see the southern half of the continent for the first time possibly. South of Morn / Seguleh Isle etc.

Cheers Hetty!
At least that gives me something new and SE related to buy this month, at £3.99 anything he puts out is a bargain quite frankly, and my original GotM copy is a bit tattered by now, so good stuff.
Cant wait til SE comes to the UK and I can accost him alongside a drunken Brood and enact our cunning plans.

I don't mean to whimper, but can't we at least get a date for these prologues' publications here? It's really getting on my nerves. Pleeeeeeease

No you cant.
Hetan has already posted the letter(s) from the publisher that says the prologues should be sent in a week or two... maybe. That was about a week ago.
That's the best we have, it could be a week, two weeks or... A YEAR!
If I was Hetan, I'd make a promise, for every post demanding the prologue, she deletes 10 lines

Banning for those demanding prologues. Rep for those asking politely. That's my method. Healthy curiosity cannot be punished. After all we are all eagerly awaiting the prologue, it's painful.
