Whats your Favourite Book in the series?

Here are mine in order:
1.Memories Of Ice (The focus on the Bridgeburners makes this one my fave. Along with Gruntle, there are so many characters that are likeable, plus The entire Whikeyjack dying/Bridgeburners in Coral still wrenches every time i read it)
2. Gardens Of The Moon (even if the scale of this is less broad it means SE can focus much more on the few important characters)
3.The Bonehunters (Fiddler's squad is cool)
4. Reaper's Gale (the Redmask storyline seems a bit pointless, i.e why would the K'Chain Che'Malle kill their own mortal sword? But the Malazans advance towards Letheras and the death of Trull is brilliantly written. And am I the only person who didn't have a clue that the Barghast would appear?)
5. Deadhouse Gates (The characters, especially the Wickans, are good and the ending is awesome, but teh other books are just too good)
6. Midnight Tides (not enough relatable characters, although Bugg and Tehol provide the funniest moments in the series)
7. House Of Chains (Just seemed to be written to set up The Bonehunters)
There you go. I;m interested to see everyone elses views

1. Midnight Tides
2. Deadhouse gates
3. The Bonehunters
4. Reaper's Gale
5. House of Chains
6. Memories of Ice (great but for the weak and preddictable plot)
7. Gardens of the Moon
The order changes occasionally: a couple of months back Deadhouse Gates was my favorite.

Hmmmm, yikes. I guess if I had to order them, I'd order them in reverse order of publication (ie, RG favorite, BH 2nd favorite, etc). I think SE has gotten better with each installment. Though the ranking should imply no cut off of good vs. bad. GOTM falls last on my list but that in no way should imply that I think it's a bad book. Every time I revisit it, I like it a bit more.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

I don't see why people enjoyed Bonehunters so much...nothing happened in that novel. It was like a 100 pages of a city burning, 500 pages of sailing through oceans and a 100 pages of "GO BUY NoK!!!"

At the moment:
Memories of Ice (I loved the Toc-Envy storyline, Itkovian, Whiskeyjack, K'rul, Kruppe - an aweful lot happened in this book)
The Bonehunters (the first book I ever finished and wanted to reread immediately)
Midnight Tides (It was nice to get a flashback on Trull's story and Tehol was hilarious)
Deadhouse gates (The chain of Dogs gets to me every time I reread it)
House of Chains (I liked this one a lot more during the second time I read it)
Gardens of the Moon (Too much inconsistancies)
Reaper's Gale (Maybe I'll appreciate this one more on rereading as well, when some seemingly pointless storylines are placed in a new perspective)
Also, even though Reaper's Gale is last, I really enjoyed reading it

I loved everything in reverse order of publication, as though he's just publishing new chapters to a multi-volumed book... oh wait, he is... the Book of the Fallen!
I mean, each book can be criticized but i just thirst for everything new about this world and its characters, histories, plotlines and forshadowing, so ya, RG, BH, MT, MOI, DG, GOTM!!! I think my favorite is now Toll the Hounds without even reading it, lol! Without it even written, lol!
And I loved BH! Lots of stuff happened in that book that I really enjoyed. Increased knowledge of the 14th and its main characters. Tavore, Laseen, Rel, Dom showdown. Aspalar and Kalam showin what they're made of... again... in ridiculous excess!!! In fact one of my favorite scenes from the whole series was when Icarium realizes that Shadowthrone has just concealed the throne instead of destroying it, and with a smile and almost imperceptible nod to the God, he lets the Edur think what they want.

MoI and DG remain my top 1 and 2 respectively. As i see it, everything that followed just built on what those two books accomplish, and never quite match the mad scope of what they do.

I can never decide which to put first out of DG, MoI & MT. I rank them all first. But if you forced me...it would be DG.

Everytime i re-read them i end up changing the order thats what i like about them so much but the one that hit me the most was "The Bonehunters" i started re-reading it the day after i finished it, never done that b4 with any book, my current list is
BH
DG ...Let me tell you of Coltaine of the Crow Clan
MT
GotM
HoC
RG... not sure of this yet , to many loose ends /unexplained plot lines
MoI...already new plot as i read HoC before it WhiskeyJacks death had already hit me so whole book seemed pointless cos i knew what happened.

1) MOI (re-read it skipping the mhybe chapters and its so hard to put down.)
2) DHG (everything after felisin and co. meet gesler)
3) MT (Tehol and Bugg are by far the best comedic characters I've ever read biggest downfall is how much page Rhulad eats up)
4) GotM (The majority of my favourite characters ever in fantasy star in it, unfortunately everything prior to Darujhistan is so drawn out, I think with a re-write now it would be the best of the series)
5) RG ( I dont know, I felt cheated with Trulls death, it didn't seem necessary at all; completely different feeling than: whiskeyjack, brys and duiker/coltaine's deaths, kind of ruined it for me)
6) HoC ( Its weird the first time I read HoC I found it boring until the last 100 pages, on subsequent re reads I really enjoy everything but the final convergence)
7) tBH (Just seemed Tolkien journeyish to me and the ending is so strange the unfinished feeling which I guess is to setup RotCG is so different from all his other novels...had more of a "what the hell just happened?" aspect.
After re-reading what I wrote its funny how much of an impact an ending has on my general perceptions of a story.

I am surprised so many people rate Bonehunters highly. It seemed pointless to me and way below the standards of the series.
The only great part for me was Yghatan.

See thats what Im saying about Bonehutners...I just didn't get that novel. It was a 800 page bridge novel, just a way to tie of the stories from House of Chains and setup all the remaining novels. When people say lots of things happened in Bonehunters thats exactly my point, so much happened in that novel, so many characters, so many different plot lines to tie off...that it felt as if it accomplished nothing. And I really was left saying "okay...wtf just happened here? What was the point of all of this?"
Oh well w/e Memories of Ice still ranks at the top and I'm just waiting for Toll the Hounds as we're going back to that continent, but most of the characters that made it what it was are gone so I'm not sure how it'll turn out.
