it would be cool
and a great way to bring the liosan fully into the series as the true army of the crippled god. but then why is his aspect chaos? i mean why not the sourcery of thurallan or whatever their warren is called.

His aspect technically isnt chaos, hes simply making use of it. Its mentioned somewhere, but I cant remember where...
Maybe hes afraid of his children finding out what he has become?
In RG, he almost seems to regret what hes been doing...

but surely the liosan would agree, they treat all of the people on wu as inferior species. do you think that he's using chaos because he has been cut off from his warren as a result of the chainings etc? or even the crashdown that initially occured?

OH, maybe... He is chained to a dozen powerless warrens or something. Maybe he only uses Chaos because its all he can access, after all, it is "the paths between warrens", so I assume he could get to it from his tent-warrens.

I dont think the Liosan are evil, tho, just stupidly arrogant. Whereas the CG is definatly doing evil things.

i wouldn't say he is evil either.
immagine anomander, who we take as a "good guy" being dragged from his warren and broken and crippled. he'd kick ass anyway he could as well. and he ain't even a god.

Rake is actually a god, he just doesnt listen to prayers, and denies his worshippers, like Dassem....
Thats true, hes not evil, just misunderstood, I guess.

Someone points out somewhere that they have worshippers, thus making them reluctant Gods ( Im sorry, Im always a bit vague on quotes, and I never have the books with me to find out where theyre from).

I think that once we're talking about the power level of gods and ascendants it's very much of a six of one thing, half a dozen of the other. About the only thing that differentiates them is whether they have and accept worshippers. (unless you start talking birth stories as it were) It (worship) can be a treacherous thing looking at featherwitches example, I can see why Anomander is reluctant to have anything to do with it.
I can easily see in paran, for example, the potential for godhood should people start directing prayers at him and him being accepting or whatever it takes. Perhaps a few sacrifices and calls for blessing or whatever in his name and *poof* new god.

Paran as a god would be kind of strange. The Gods we know from Wu mostly have some sort of agenda which is also linked to there aspect. So they become players in the game.
I hope Paran stays more like he is now the referee in this game.

It has been explained that the great difference between the Gods and powerfull ascendants is their possibilities of action.
While ascendants are powerfull, Gods are power manifest. They can probably unleash hell on earth destroying anything and everything as hinted at in DG by Icarium. But they learned a long time ago that wiping out peoples and waging personal wars against nations, especially with out common acceptance by other gods, is a bad thing. It becomes messy.
Therefor they play their games instead, using mortals and immortals in their plans. Their interrelation in the pantheon and the fear of starting something that will escalate keep them in line.
What's more their aspect shapes them, the errant is bound to nudge and prod but no more, shadowthrone is driven insane and becomes shadowy, poliel is bound to her only choise of action, sickness and death.
Then there's the matter of prayers and priests, being a god is a full time job, I suspect.
The unaligned ascendants however are free to do what ever they want, when ever they want... to a certain extent.

Its my thought that SE has turned the whole good vs evil thing on its head and those that we would normally percieve as good, ie light based creatures/races/characters are in fact quite xenophobic, fascist and aloof.
The JUST wars echos of a holy crusade fought by 2 supra goodly (in their eyes) races to see who is more just? only SE knows
The neutrals get the lions share of his praise as just getting on with it and not having high browed reasons for doing stuff
The evil boys are obvious though in their nastiness, the canibal host, KCM's etc
We gotta remember that CG is insane to a degree and may well act out of character to what he was..........

Aye thats true. It would be SE's style to have the final war among the pantheon as the Liosan and daddy Light vs everyone else, dont you think?
