Is is just me or did anyone else think the opening ceremony was probably the worst thing ive seen on television in a looooong time!!!

-still having nightmares about crazy spandex wearing cycling helmet guys with pointy shoulders jumping around like monkeys.....terrible.

What ... you actually BOTHER to watch an opening ceremony of any kind? Don't you know they're invariably an incomprehensible, cringe-inducing wankfest? They mostly represent too much (generally public) money given to obscure "artists" who probably put most of it up their noses or veins. ;)

Cheers,

PS - the only benefit 91-3 over Japan gave us was maybe a bit more cohesion.

I have this amusing image of you just sitting there watching you're girlfriend's "openings"...

Must admit not looking forward to Friday night in Paris though after a good lunch at L'Angle du Faubourg, I will at least have had some decent red burgundy - and if England are as dire as predicted I am likely to fall asleep as check in for the flight is at 4:30AM - so sleep may just be preferable.

Of course we still have to see if NZ implode in QF (against France??? - repeat of 1999 semi - that would be fun).

Coupla good games this weekend...the Saffers should roger the Poms, and we should win against Wales. Namibia, Canada, USA et al. have definitely been the most fun to watch. Saffers-Samoa was a great game too...Habana is ace.

That was hugely impressive stuff from England. Impressive kicking straight into the wrong areas, brilliant lack of pace or guile in attack, a scintillating lack of anything resembling organisation, and your supposedly best remaining playmaker still being a yard short of his game following a code change and a lengthy injury.

Brilliant.

Feeling quite apprehensive about Wales's game today after seeing how England performed against S.Africa.

But the match is in Cardiff so we have the home crowd advantage, would be great if Wales won but somehow i find it doubtful and I'm a welsh fan! !

My 2 cents!

Australia were quite clearly the better team, if they play like they did in the first half against wales then they should be able to get through the next stages of the competition quite easily.

What about Ireland eh???

Just lulling ye all into a false sense of security. Then BAM! Roll on FRANCE and ARGENTINA!

Honestly though, the way we're playing I'm not sure we could beat eggs. Just saw a reply of the game against that renowned rugby powerhouse Georgia, and Ireland deserved to lose. It really was hard to tell which team were the professionals. Another great example of why I would never ever bet on a match that involves Ireland. We could find a way to lose to anyone, and then equally pull out a victory when it's least expected.

Our only saving grace is that we've won both games so far. Now, fingers crossed that France and Argentina slip up in their remaining pool games before meeting Ireland.

Things aren't looking all that good for the Northern Hemisphere.

Ah well, guess those first 2 performances were accurate indicators of our rugby at the moment.

didn't get to see the game, but it's looking like an early trip home barring a miracle against Argentina.
