You might think that, but not in my book. They get as far as they did because they didn't face any of the southern hemisphere sides. France buckled under the pressure in the first game and didn't care about the playoff, Ireland were crap the whole way, and Scotland pushed them pretty close.

Besides, Argentina are a seriously good side, as most people would have known before the tournament. Them not being over-achievers is an absolute compliment to them - I am honestly not suprised they won the matches they did. They got the luck of the draw to some extent in getting the easiest semi-final, so I didn't expect them to get third place. I think England and Fiji's efforts were simply less easy to predict.

England was always going to be competitive by virtue of your pack... now if you had a fly half who was capable of running witht he pill instead of kicking it...
Fiji - yeah, I'd go that far, but I really wouldn't have put Argies above the 1/4s and England above the semis... both only overachieved by a game...

Easiest semi final?...playing England or France would have been easier for them surely?...South Africa thrashed them...they probably would have beaten England or France if they were in the other Semi??? :confused:

The Boks looked absolutely knackered today agains the Baabaas... the scoreline wasn't exactly fair, and the Rokocoko tackle to deny them the first try was superb, but still... they looked off the pace, probably due to the number of players they had missing, I suppose.
