That would be him. If he throws and connects on Fedor (or anyone) in the beginning of the fight, it's probably over. It doesn't matter how well-rounded of a fighter you are if you drop someone with one hit. His advantage is that a lot of MMA guys would try to stand with him, just to prove a point. Foolish. If Fedor were to shoot and take him down off the opening bell, Kimbo is done. If Fedor wants to show Kimbo that he can't stand with a real MMA guy, anything could happen.

Anyone see the card for the first Affliction PPV? One of the best non-UFC cards I've seen. Of course, half of these guys are ex-UFC.
* Fedor Emelianenko vs. Tim Sylvia
* Josh Barnett vs. Pedro Rizzo
* Ben Rothwell vs. TBA
* Paul Buentello vs. Aleksander Emelianenko*
* Matt Lindland vs. Fabio Nascimento
* Renato "Babalu" Sobral vs. Mike Whitehead

So he's sort of like a mangy version of One Punch Tank Abbot? Scary.

I think I've seen some really sketchy video of Kimbo street fighting. That dude is scary looking. Didn't he at one time live in a car?

I think that might be true. He also used to be a security guard in the porn industry. One chink in his mythical reputation is that the one guy to beat him in on of those streetfights nearly got killed when he tried to fight a real MMA match.

Yeah that doesn't bode well.

The craziest thing about those fights is how it all happens so quickly. The two guys are dancing around, feeling each other out...and then...BAM! It's over. Then they show it in slow motion a few times and I'm like "Holy fuck. That guy's eyes just literally rolled completely up into his skull!"

Crazy shit. Crazy dudes.

Is Fedor - Sylvia confirmed? Would be nice. I really like seeing Fedor fight. I know, I know, hasn't met anyone good for a while and so on (comes up every time). Just like his way of fighting: good hands, throws, powerful G&P, submissions. Anyway, that card looks awesome.

It is confirmed, but there's always a possibility that the whole show could get snafued and canceled since it's one of the new promotions. I'm just afraid Sylvia is going to turn it into a typical Sylvia fight, jabbity jab jab for 5 rounds. I hate that guy.

if sylvia can force his pacing on fedor he could probably pull out a victory. randleman and mark hunt did very well making fedor fight by their gameplan and nearly pulled out victories doing it

I'm Sylvis can win, but I'm even more sure he's going to be boring as all hell doing it.

He is boring, but I would like to see Fedor against anyone top 10. Don´t think Sylvia will win but sure, he could keep the distance jabbing away and avoid takedowns (thats one thing he´s fairly good at) and get "lucky" with a punch. On the other hand, Fedor does his takedowns mostly from the clinch, so just sprawling wont necessarily help against being taken down for Sylvia. Anything can happen.

Anyway, BJ vs Sherk will be fun ;)

I want to see BJ trash Sherk. I have become a fan now that he's actuallly taking fighting seriously. I used to like Sherk before the roid scandal. Even if he is innocent, he cried too much.

Watch this video. It's the same one I just posted in the Inn, but I wanted to put it here as well.

BJ looks really impressive when he's focused and has done his conditioning like a pro.

I'd forgotten it was A Silva that Chonan flying heel-hooked. Here's Barnett commenting on it (form mma.tv):

I've heard of that fight but never seen it. I was watching some of the related videos and a bunch of injuries popped up, broken arms and such from people not tapping. Brutal stuff. There are a couple of kimura videos that are plain nasty.

Ortiz looked a half-second slow during the entire fight. He's still pretty strong, but I think his inability to adjust to age showed in that fight. Machida switch-kicked him multiple times.

Sherk tried. Penn was just too good for him.

Mazzagati stopped the Silva/Jardine fight at exactly the right time - it was the last punch that put Jardine out cold.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

I feared for Jardines health he was absolutely sparco' as we say in Rugby.

I was confused by the end of the Penn Sherk match though, it didn't look like Yamaski had actually stopped it at all, more that Penn decided he had won.

Sherk was definitely out. He didn't seem to protest the stoppage either.

A lotta people online are liking the BJ Penn blood licking thing. I thought it was disrespectful, even if Sherk allegedly used steroids, he's still a skilled and willing competitor.

Well Sherk was so out of it I'm not sure he realised about the blood licking thing. They were very matey at the end.
