So what's going to happen to Rich Franklin now, do you suppose? Commentator?

That Franklin KO was brutal.

Didn't see the rest of the event though - read the results... too many decisions.

Hendricks hits like a truck. It was beautiful watching him swipe with the right to clear the way for the huge left.

Also, the little smile as the left landed was awesome, but the snap back to "FINISH HIM!" mode was even better.

I'd love to see GSP-Hendricks, more so than GSP-Anderson Silva.

Condit fought well, but I think I'd have preferred he go butterfly guard and create chaos on the ground - the scrambles actually got him in some good positions now and then.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

No love for Pat Barry in this place?

Glad he got the much needed win.

Big Country VS Matt Mitrione went as expected and proved exactly nothing. I like both fighters but I don't think Matt Mitrione should have been thrown to the wolves like that. Some states wouldn't even sanction a guy who was 5-1 (Meathead) against a guy who was 18-7 (Nelson) and 3 years VS almost 10 years experience. Oh well.

What fights are you guys most excited for this weekend?

Outside of the main event the Belcher vs Okami fight seems really really intriguing.

and of course Joe Lauzon is always fun to watch.

I'm hoping Belcher kicks Okami's ass. Belcher has the potential to be in the top-3 of the division, but there's always something that's held him back.. a close loss, injuries, etc.

Lauzon/Miller should be great. I think Miller will win that one though.

The title fight... JDS should win. But it will be interesting to see what happens if he can't stuff Velasquez's takedowns.. I don't remember ever seeing JDS on his back before.

Actually, I'm a big fan of Pat Barry. He always lays it all out there. Helluva guy.

Mitrione asked for the fight, but yeah, went the way I expected as well.

I never really look forward to Okami fights. The only saving grace is that he's fighting Belcher - so it should be good.

Lauzon/Miller "FOTN".

JDS and Velasquez - I hate to see either of them loose. I wish they'd put them together in a tag team match and let them face...... I don't know, a small county maybe.

Okami really needs a win, but I want belcher to take it. Belcher is so close to being a title contender it would suck to see him derailed. The dude is a fantastic fighter and deserves more attention/ UFC hype then he gets.

Check out his breakdowns on YouTube, they are great.

The lauzon fight should be great, I want Joe to win, the dude just sea great. I would like to see him rise some more through the ranks.

JDS is too smiley to lose, though I'm hoping for more of a battle this time.
Some nice prospects on the rest of the card too.
Lauzon is good to watch.
Okami I find a bit dull...but I'm sure he'd kick my arse.

Picking Cain, Miller, Okami, Boetsch, Leben, Pickett, Guillard, Duffman, Perez, Jury, Moraga, Holloway.

I think Cain takes Two Saints down and KOs him on the ground. Those two should trade the title back and forth for years yet. This is such a good time for them.

Also, I think Okami stifles Belcher, that Boetsch KOs Philippou on the ground and that Leben destroys Brunson. Not so sure about the others though.

I'm with you on all but Okami. I think Belcher's time has come and he'll be a title contender before long (though if Silva hasn't retired yet it won't matter). Also, I do hope Cain wins but I think if it stays on the feet - if Cain doesn't take him down quick and keep him there, then JDS is going to knock him out again. Also, as much as I didn't like Varner back in the WEC days, I kind of hope he beats Guillard.

I looked at the last "hard to take down, decent striking" guy that Belcher fought and it was Akiyama, who is smaller and less good than Okami. Palhares and MacDonald aren't the same style of fighter Okami is and Belcher hasn't looked particularly good takedown wise or striking wise. He just outgrapples people, gets on top and then starts hammerfisting them into oblivion. It's good and impressive, but I think Okami gets the decision win here.

I'd like to see a Varner win, but I don't think he'll get it. Food poisoning a couple weeks ago does take a bit out of you.

Varner wins it. 30-27, 27-30, 30-27. Some of these judges are fucking idiots. Maybe 29-28 Varner. Bad judging gives it to Guillard 29-28. But 30-27? Ridiculous.

I gave it 29-28 Varner myself. But keep in mind that one of the scores is 30-27 for Guillard! That's not at all okay.

Also, I gave Holloway a 29-28 too.

Yeah, the 30-27 Guillard is what I was calling ridiculous. 30-27 Varner isn't outside of possible. 30-27 Guillard means you weren't watching the fight.

Lauzon - Miller didn't disappoint.

Cain was a monster. How JDS made it to the 5th, I don't know. So who fights Cain next? Sonnen?

I read that Dana said Werdum gets the next title shot if he beats Nog.

That being said I don't trust Dana with his fight promises and it could easily be Overeem.

Awesome night of fights btw. Lauzon looked like a horror story but man he almost had that sub at the end.

Cain was relentless and JDS looked like gumby after the fight. Pretty spectacular main event.

Belcher might have been able to do something if he would have stopped pulling guard for those guillotine attempts, every single time he tried he ended up stuck on bottom, and every round he tried. Craziness.

I lost all my faith in Belcher last night. lol.

Velasquez/Overeem would be awesome... especially if it happened in the next 4-5 months.

Velasquez/Werdum might be even better. Super interesting matchup style-wise. Werdum's striking has improved a lot in the last couple years, and I'm not sure Cain would want to take him down at all.

Shit, I might actually be rooting against Nog if he fights Werdum.. just so we could see Werdum/Cain.
