I also thought that with seguleh being anvill and torrud shield and them being first empire words that it implied a connection to dessimbelackis. Also its the tyrants of assail and I remeber that dessim is perhaps one of the most dangerous divers evr allive. perhaps their are tyrants but perhaps they are only one. Though the 2nd segulehs speech which I had mostly forgoten impies their are children and even women which sadly seems to weaken my theory.

Another thing I thought interestings is we have a trio of power in service to gods. Mortal sword, shiled anvil anddestriant. Is it coincidence that the torrud cabal and seguleh who we know once worked toghether make up shield anvil. Is this position perhpas fulled collectivly by thousands of humans and not just one mortal?

The mages who caused the CG's Fall all died, they were not from the First Human Empire, they don't have any known link with Genebackis or Darujhistan at all (they were Korelri). I don't see it. The only reason I can see to even think of the two groups in the same post is because they are both teams of mages numbering more than two.

No reason they would have had to stay in the same place, is there?

Also, the implication by the Soldier o'Death in TB that the Cabal had been around a long, LONG time.

It's thin, but there it is. We know other beings, including Kallor himself who was the impetus for the Cg being yanked down in the first place, are still around from then.

It's possible, but we've never known whether Dessimmbewacky was in fact the ONLY Emperor/power figure of the human FE, plus the term 'First Empire' refers toan entire civilization, stretching over continents, over what was probably a long period of time - i think the ref is more 'point in time' than specifically 'everything FE must be linked to Dessimbelackis'.

Interesting notion, but i think it's more etymological than actual (meaning it's the words that evolved, not the position).

- Abyss, from the latin 'Abyss'.

Is it confirmed that the oil works against elder warrens? BC I wouldn't be surprised if some in the cabal have access to them.

Also, Karsa seems to be a special case. The blood oil may very well not be as effective for other Teblor. And remember, at first the blood oil only blunted magical attacks against Karsa.

In HoC we learn that only Karsa's tribe used the blood oil (made from otataral scraped from the cliffs close to home) while the other tribes had all but forgotten the practice. His initial immunity came from a lifetime of use and his current state of virtual imperviousness to magic is a combination of his initial immunity and his enhanced power since leaving his homeland.

As for him being immune to elder magic, i think it would depend on how the magic was used and the reletive power of the caster using it more then anything else.
