Storywise, RotCG is on par with most Malazan books by SE. But though his writing style has improved, ICE's prose is not as fluid as SE.

Nevertheless, in terms of plotlines and such, this is a terrific book so far!;)

Hey pat, is the awesome level similar to Steve's stuff. How's the action?
Is the writing similar to the Y'Ghatan flashback we saw in NoK? Which was, imo, clearly the best written part of the book?

Thanks.

Well, the proverbial sh!t hasn't hit the fan yet, so I can't really say. There are quite a few storylines being weaved together here, so it promises to come to a climax at the end. . . ;)

Well, there will be another one this summer, for the Bantam edition. ;)

336 pages into it, and things have definitely started to heat up!

ICE doesn't have a similar style to SE in many ways....I loved NoK.

The last few replies confuse me heavily.

Flea, that made me laugh quite a bit.
Kud, pointing out the truth. And Yes, you can.
Zanth, oh betrayer of the noble X. Giving Kud the impetus he needs to enter the contest to prove once and for all.
Xander, why are you ripping your eyes out?!
AIJ, What? We already know the page count for RotCG...or should do. It's 800 and something for the proper version. Pat's is 741.

It was mainly Xander and AIJ that confused me.

I recommend starting a new thread for such things. Otherwise people interested in the publication date and not wanted any information about the contents are gonna be a bit pissed off.

Bantam tell me the release date is August 2008 in both hardback and trade paperback ;)

Rest assured - the book absolutely flies along from the middle to the end. :)
