Grant Morrison DC sale on Comixology. Up to 67% off. I hope there's a good selection of what I don't have on Hoopla to save my wallet. There will be damage regardless.

Also looking for thoughts on Saga and whether or not it is worth reading.

SAGA is literally in the top 3 ongoing comics right now (along with other excellence like EAST OF WEST)...it is MORE than worth your time and money.

You were right. I bought the first three volumes last week and went back and bought the rest on Saturday. 'Twas excellent.

I prefer my Brubaker in large chunks of story, so i'll wait for a few more trades. He's what, ten issues in? Too too soon.

I kind of wish I'd read more as I dropped a decent chunk of cash, had to leave a few till next time to keep the price down. On the bright side, I have a bunch of Morrison ahead of me.

I bought Final Crisis in hardcover trade and I don't regret it at all. I mean, it's a huge amount of wasted potential but it's not shit. Has some real nice moments, it just drowns them in lots of other moments (it could and should have been four times as long).

Of course, it helps that the FC HC is a really beautiful presentation. The cover's great.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

Counterpoint: it's shit. Superman sings Darkseid to death. Darkseid's son, Kalibek, is killed by that talking tiger from 1970s Shazam comics.

The only downside is the amount of cash I dropped. And no, I did not buy Final Crisis, I had already read it and it was on Hoopla. This is a very polarizing book, just look at the Amazon reviews. Put me in the camp of those that really liked it.

Another big Amazon Marvel Kindle sale, seems like bigger discounts than the last sale a few weeks ago. For instance, Bendis' Powers is about $2 a volume. I purchased Punisher Max during the last sale, I think the price is even lower now.

It is an INSANE sale. I got the original Claremont/Miller WOLVERINE LS collected, for, $1.60. At that price, i don't even care if its on Marvel unltd.
Now POWERS... i am ALL OVER THAT.

There's a mini ComiKet at my local gym at the start of October. Might pop along. It'll either be manga, or if they have a statuette of Purple Heart, well, I'll nep that right up. But I do enjoy browsing the different issues, especially now I have a few series on the go.
Debut novel 'Incarnate' now available on Kindle

Yeah, I picked up all 14 volumes for $30 or so. That's about 3,000 pages of comics. Couldn't pass that one up, and it's not on MU.

I've been trying to space my purchases out. Between yesterday and today, I've grabbed all of Bendis' ALL-NEW X-MEN run, SQUIRREL GIRL BEATS UP THE MARVEL UNIVERSE, and the first volumes of GWENPOOL and Bendis' UNCANNY X-MEN. I've got WOLVERINE and WEAPON X in my shopping cart for later, as well as the rest of UNCANNY and the second ALL-NEW X-MEN run.

The best part is, my purchase yesterday qualified me for a freebie: I grabbed the massive X-MEN EPIC COLLECTION that starts with Giant-Sized X-Men #1.
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

Yeah, it's between X-MEN EPIC and Infinity for me. Both on MU, but Comixology is a better reading experience.
