Browsing this thread has made me glad I stopped at the end of series 1.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Watched the premiere... SPOILERS below if you care...
Tracy/Aquagirl assassin - good fun. Liked her Noah deathtrap.
Noah and Peter vs Darth Toad: awesome. Gives us that at least twice an ep and we would stay.
Sylar in Matt's head: Great.
Clare goes to college: BoooOOOOOOoooring. Also, predictable. And boring. How about this as a new plotline: Remove the cheerleader, save the ratings.
Nathan/Sylar: Predictable. This big twist is going nowhere good in terms of watchability.
The Hiro and Ando show: I wouldn't know, as i ffwd'd all of it. FFS, why? WHY do they keep subjecting people to this infantile crap???
Evil circus people: You're kidding, right? After gov conspiracies and evil corporations and serial killer superpowers... an evil circus. Marvel comics used to do this in the 70s and it was lame back then...
Ratings were crap. The future isn't looking good for this show.
At this point it's trainwreck watching...
- Abyss, ...alas....

was so dull an episode. they seem to have cut the effects budget as well, as pretty much everything was just bad looking

It's the tiny bits of brilliance that so frustrate me... if the show was just 48 minutes of junk i'd stop altogether, but little things like Peter helping Noah just so he could steal Darth Toad's power (and the thing with the clam chowder), Tracy freezing the outside of Noah's car watertight and then flooding it, or Sylar stuck in Matt's thinkymeatz... these are great ideas. But do they give us more? Do they explore these concepts and keep the bar high? No. Instead we get Ando saving kittens and Clare playing guitar hero at the lamest most alcohol free frat party ever. Screw NBC, they deserve the pasting they are getting this season.

what it really needs is claire and gretchen starring in californictaion instead
the writers are so desperate for viewers they are clearly making claire a lesbian now.
and the stuff with tbag and the deaf woman, god how bloody dull.

Gratuitous lesbianism may be Clare's only hope of relevance.

I am trying so hard to imagine Peter as not having lame powers. I almost succeed. I think this season will suck less than the previous one, even though that doesn't count for much.

I stopped at the end of last season. And nothing in this thread about the latest makes it look worth picking up again. I agree with 'byss though, as I watched the entire last season waiting for those small, infrequent brilliant moments, that were unfortunately surrounded by awful, lame scenes.
It just seems like a wasted opportunity. If Hiro had stayed as his 'future' self from the first season, and was actually allowed to use his time powers, it might have been worth watching. Why they turned him into a cartoon character is anyones guess.
(I'm still mad that after yet another season waiting for Peter to regain his powers, he actually, finally got to do something at the end... and it was behind closed doors! I don't want to sit through another season of that.)

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Saw ep 2 for the season. Mildly better. The Sylar-in-Matt's-thinkymeatz storyline took some awesome twists.
Am curious about deaf-sees-sounds girl, tho we need a new character like we need more Hiro/Ando.
Evil Carnival guy's motives are all over the place and Clare's co-eds-in-trouble storyline is yawning me to death tho'.
- Abyss, just wants more kaboom and less angst - is that so much to ask?

I like the mute button and a book which I can read a couple of pages of and then retune in. It's the only way to get through scenes with Claire in now. Some of the stuff seems to have possibilities, but it's just jumping from story to story as each season starts, there is no continuity as with BSG which makes it suck! Plus I don't see the point in dea-sees-sounds girl as that's not a power that's a well-recognised medical condition!!!!!!!!

A re-boot with an evil circus... are you freaking kidding me?????????? I can't take this anymore. I loved bad ass future Hiro. I loved amoral Adam/Kensei.
I finally started liking Peter Petrelli once he stopped being a whiny EMO, then he lost his powers and now sort-of has them back... even though everyone else has recovered all their abilities, his still don't function properly and apparently he is now The Flash.
I was praying that Angela Petrelli and Claire Bennett would have been accidentally wiped from existence, but no, just more inconsistent scheming from a bitter, twisted and usually incoherent woman, and Dawson's Creek meets Bound with the irritating blonde Cheerkiller.
Noah has consistently been an interesting character, even if his storylines, motivations and justifications have been entirely inconsistent. But a freaking evil circus??????????????????? Seriously????????????
The Matt Parkman stuff was interesting, even though I am not a huge fan of the actor Greg Grundberg in this. It isn't anything to do with his acting, he just rubs me up the wrong way for some reason, it might be the character, it might be the dialogue. I can't quite put my finger on it. Unfortunately that means that I keep hoping that he will just die and Sylar will take over his body.
After the debacle with the writer's strike and subsequent re-boot, I was rather hoping that this season they would build on the arc from last season and have some sort of consistency and coherent plan for the narrative development. It appears that this is not the week for me to buy lottery tickets. If it doesn't pick up by mid season I think I will be waiting for a friend to buy the box set so I can borrow it.

It was worrying when that Claire plot occurred. Although the twist with the other girl was quite good. Where's Parker gone as I was enjoying his story? I know Heroes is episodic, but he's been gone 3 episodes now which is getting silly.
Also anyone know what the big bad is this season as if it's the damned circus then I will hurt someone and if it's Sylar (again) then I will stop watching!

I keep wondering why they made the kid heal Peter - I still can't give up the fantasy that he'll get back his initial power somehow. I miss super Peter and how he was the good side of the Sylar coin. Memory loss - Sylar is really cute - or is it Nathan? Either way it's an interesting storyline. I can't wait to see Sylar come back and scare the crap out of the entire circus.
Seriously, it's dangerous to try to tame the bloodthirsty lion.

I am liking this series now, actually. Better than the last one, at least Robert Knepper makes a strong lead character. Also, the whole "Joseph is dead" story takes a potentially interesting turn at the end of this latest episode when we find out that Joseph is, in fact,
I'm thinking this could either be a very good idea, or a very bad one...

I am just waiting for Hiro to go to Peter and say: lets go and get your powers back. Then they'll actually manage to do it. A girl has a right to dream right.
