Season 2 has been overwhelming "MEH!" up to this point and the latest episode continued the trend. I thought it was very funny that Tim Kring thought things had gone so badly wrong he had to apologise for it.

The big problem is that rather than keep their promise to have two storylines this season and really get into two seperate plotlines, instead one just seems to be setting up the other and consists of a ton of filler. Even worse, thanks to the writer's strike once we get to episode 11, there is absolutely no indication when we'll see the second half of the season. Possibly not until late next year.

Well, I finally caught up on my Heroes viewing, and I gotta say my faith was restored by these last 2 episodes. Every time I have started to question continuing to watch this show, Kring & Co. just knock it out of the park.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

Its confirmed Adam does not age.

Mat get another power upgrade, but it seems that it can be resisted if you know hes doing it to you. Though it is at some cost.

Claire is still a confused teenager that will never understand her dad.

Mohinder seems to have gotten over his moral situation.

Spoiler

Hiro has really became a real powerhouse. The way that he was hopping around is fantastic. The queston is did Adam kill Hiro's dad to get back at Hiro, or did he kill him as punishment for past crimes. I just wish that they would let us know what power Hiro's dad had. You know it had to of been pretty good. I am voting for a power similar to Jessica's. I also want to know what power Mama Petrelli has.
It is very sad that Mat is starting to use his power to control people. But he is finally starting to turn into a serious badass. So does that mean that since Peter has Mats power that he to will be able to put thoughts into peoples heads.
I can just imagine the possibilities for that power.
Boy meets really hot girl in a bar. Boy says "You want to take me home and do me all night long, and you want your hot girlfriend to come along."
Oh the possibilities, that is a badass power....
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

New idea that came to me. Ok so we know that Adam killed Kaito Nakamura. And we know that Hiro helped Adam learn about and control his power. We also know that Adam and Kaito Nakamura had spent some time together, and Hiro's dad used to tell Hiro tales about Takezo Kensei as a child. So what if since Adam knew that Hiro had to go back in time to teach him his powers he informed Kaito Nakamura that Hiro had to learn about Kensei in order to go back and save Japan. He could have done this with out letting on that he was the original Kensei, that way Kaito Nakamura would never see the betrayal coming. Which of course Kaito Nakamura didn't.

Allegedly Kaito didn't know about Hiro's powers til about the end of last season, leading to the most effective half-day intensive sword-fighting training session ever.

Yeah right, He helped form the Company and didn't know about Hiro's powers. I buy that not....I did like the bit about Kaito having never time travelled before. Is that suppose to mean that the company never had a time traveller before..

as to the power of Kaito and mum petrelli.. Kaito, as I understood it, has the power to gift others with his knowledge and/or skills, which would explain the dream like atmosphere and extreeme efficiency of their half day long training session. Kaito was obviously a sword master of some sort, yet Hiro managed to learn how to beat him in that short a time.

As for Petrelli, her power is obviously to subtly manipulate the minds of others, or something similar to it. Notice how whenever she wants to convince Nathan, or someone else of something important to her, she makes sure to touch them a lot, and also the music changes;)

This would make sense (and make me feel better) - but any proof beyond the above or is this rationalization/speculation?

Last ep in the plague future she seemed to prompt Peter's memory recovery somewhat. That could of course have been Pete using Matt's power, or the brain healing thing Adam shows him later.

She was doing some weird touchy-feely thing when she was trying to convince Nathan's wife that Nate was crazy and should be left alone.

- Abyss, still waiting for Adam to be revealed as Apocalypse (brick-to-the-headedly obvious X-men ref to the 12 there if you missed it...)...

The thing about Noah (HRG) is that when he woke up, he was on a crappy little hospital bed in a very dingy room. Hardly sounds like the company. And if it was Claire...well wouldnt they be at his house?

Im guessing that Adam was lurking around, and its his blood that was used to heal Noah

No, I have no other proof, but it fits well with the impression I've gotten of the older generation of gifted having more subtle, less flashy gifts.

As to the future mind healing, that would also fitt well with her being able to subtly manipulate, goad etc other people's minds.

And what is it with peter and his damn stupidity? If Adam's blood could heal Nathan, then surely so could Peter's as anyone, including him, should be able to realise.

Actually, we've never seen Peter use more than one power at a time. Unlike Clare or Adam, the healing power doesn't seem to always be 'on', tho it seems to always kick in when he gets hurt. Point being, his blood probably doesn't have the same effect.

- Abyss, also notes hey, plot device!

Could be, but it's more likely istm that Suresh shot HRG in the presence of Bob who had just collected blood from Claire so they just had to find a place nearby to administer it. This amplifies the plotline that it's Claire's blood that will save the world. I'd bet that Bob uses his bringing HRG back to life to convince him to work together and bolster Suresh's wavering conviction that he's on the right side. All in all, a very satisfying episode.

But why would Bob want to bring HRG back to life? And why would he not wait till they were back at the company, or at least have him restrained in the car

Why would they have to find a place nearby. He was dead. In the scene he was dead. I think that they just put him into a crappy room in the basement at the company's headquarters. By bringing him back, they can use him as an guinee pig, and experiament on his ass. Maybe find shit to give people powers and to take them away, see if the virus moves to humans, all sorts of fun stuff. I do believe that Adam was over on the east coast at the time. Yes I know that Peter could just transport them over to the West Coast, but why would Peter help out the company when he is trying to stop them.

I presume because of their past history -- if they can kiss and make up the presumed good guys are that much stronger. Maybe they brought HRG back to the Company for revivification, that's not really an important detail imo. At first I was thinking that decomposition might be a complication, but I suppose that if the blood can reverse the effects of a bullet in the brain decomposition is probably a piece of cake.

They don't need HRG to experiment on; they've got a large supply of subjects already so why would they waste Claire's (or Adam's for the sake of argument) blood on him when it was so hard to obtain? He must fit into Bob's larger scheme somehow. And I don't think either Adam or Peter was available or in a mood to help transport HRG back to the Company, which is one reason why I thought the revivification probably took place near where HRG was shot.
