Less than season one but still improved over season two.

That's damning with faint praise! :( I just have a problem with how they seem to *veer* so sharply with so many story lines so often. Clare is getting hotter all the time tho.

Is it just me or do the show's writers have a thing for blondes? I mean, we have Claire, Elle, Tracy, Meredith and Daphne, and of the non-blonde female characters, one is in a coma and the other has left the show hopefully never to return...I rest my case.

On this season in general - the writers have tried to keep up a breakneck pace to try and distract from the stupidities it is perpetrating, and for me at least it's succeeding. This season entertains me where last season did not, though I no longer watch with my critical evaluation hat on, because I know the show won't stand up to scrutiny.

Sir Thursday
Don't look now, but I think there's something weird attached to the bottom of my posts.

Plus Claire and Elle just need to get it on. I'd be a fan for life.

So last night I was walking downtown for some pizza at like 1am with some friends of mine,
and someone said, "I'm so hungry I could eat a whole pizza."

I said, "I bet I could eat 100 pizzas," and no one understood me. I was sad.

Your complaint is that the bad guys are now too powerful? isn't that, like, the exact sort of dramatic development one WANTS to see in a work of fiction entertainment? EMPIRE STRIKES BACK anyone? :)

It's not for me to defend the writers, and i respect you opinion to hate the show if you want, but none of what you're ...worried about... for lack of a better term, is exactly written in stone. If they turned it around in two weeks and Pete pulls a Sylar and opens his dad's skull and gets all his powers back while enjoying some fava beans and a nice chianti, you could be screaming the praise for the awesome. This just seems like 'how DARE they expose Superman to kryptonite! He'll never be the same ever again...'.

What he said. Point being, when you actually CARE that something bad happens to a character in a show, i argue that something is being done right, not wrong. If fans WANT to see Peter get back his seventeen thousand different powers and (finally) kick butt, and are agonizing when the opposite happens, it seems to moi th writers are actually doing something right (pun intended).

As for spoiler lines, i'll add a note to the topic header and i think we can go blocks-free.

Another point being, I still watch the show and probably will as long as it's on, but I don't care very much anymore about any of the characters. The writers have wrongly (pun intended) ensured that a viewer can never identify with a character because next week or in the next 5 minutes they'll be someone completely different.

If I for one second believed that the writers were capable of that, Abyss, I wouldn't worry in the first place. Problem is, everybody keep saying the future Peter had his powers - but we don't know how much have changed - so you can't go after the future Peter (who btw is dead). As I said before, I don't mind the challenge for Peter per se, I just think the way it was done was tacky, and not interesting. And I think it's more like if they made Superman wake up from a dream, and he was actually normal, and he was just dreaming all of it...
I hope I'm wrong, and you're right though, master. :)

I think the Sylar story is the only interesting thing in the season so far. I am not convinced he switched to daddy Petrelli. It's sort of out of character for him. I kinda liked the moment when Sylar barged in and saved Peter.

It's not that, I just just don't want it to end like season 1 with Hiro delivering a slow motion stab to end things when earlier in the season Sylar was fast enough to stop Hiro when he FUCKING TELEPORTED BEHIND HIM. I still haven't gotten over that rubbish fight.

You now have (possibly) two near unstopable forces to fight with no one to fight them...except Sylar who is apparenty like a T Rex and can't see you when you're moving slowly. Well if the timeline hasen't changed yet it explains Peter's scar, and indicates he has a while to go before regaining his powers (probably not this season).

And I'm pissed they're starting the whole "catch a new Heroes in a few weeks" bit again.

First season was about ordinary people discovering they could do extraordinary things, for good and evil.

Now every character is part of some shadowy company or conspiracy or in total control of their powers. There's no sense of "Whoa, that's amazing!" It's all sound and fury without a concrete direction.

I still watch the show and still really enjoy parts of it. But it feels lost.

I find parts are lost, parts are buildling nicely. I like that Papa P is becoming this uber-master-overlord-villain.

I agree the end of the S1 was a near complete bust. And most of S2 sucked.... okay, i take it all back, this show bites.

I suppose fundamentally the fact that there is a tv show that has all these comic tropes gleefully frolicking on screen week to week (ish) just leaves me pre-disposed to watch it for the parts i like and allow for the parts i don't. Sci fi tv is always an exercise in compromise.

The running theme this season was supposed to be heroes becoming villains and vice versa, but they aren't exactly nailing it on every plotline.

- Abyss, ...also, enuf spunky blond girls already...

I actually liked the last ep a lot, imo finally some defining of who is on what side and where to go from here. Few notes to make on that though:

Sylar's, or should I say Gabriel's, story is definitely the only interesting thing with this season so far. Although I admit to liking the scene where Peter pwned those guys without his abilities. But seriously, why haven't he showed that quality before - it annoys me. :( I'm almost starting to think this losing his abilities thing is good for the Peter character. But I still want him to get his abilities back.

Claire story - yawn.
Mrs. Petrelli story - yawn.

Gotta like the Mafia like cult setup though - two teams going at each other with the loyalties not being very clear. :(

Love the sig Gem, brilliant.

But I am finding myself losing interest rapidly in the series. I haven't even bothered to watch this weeks yet, and only half paid attention to last weeks.

Thanks! :(

Well, yeah, for instance the evil daddy Petrelli is really cliché. He's like a super powered Lex Luthor. Yawn.

I'm really enjoying this series. I haven't looked in here before for ear of spoilers, but I'm up to date now. Suprised that people haven't enjoyed it, especially in comparison to series 2...

I must say, I'm quite dissapointed with one thing... they kept Angela's power secret for so long, and now they are showing it, it's some weird, losely-defined brainyness... very odd. So she can see the future, and also project visions into other people's minds? Very strange combo, does this mean that she's also Isaac and Matt's mother too? :D
