I love Godspeed You Black Emperor! I took long road trip during the dead of winter by myself, listening to the album that song is from: F♯A♯∞ . . . . evoked a melancholy in me that I found appealing. . . .watching the muted colors of winter pass by.

Aside from my love for instrumental rock, I'm a big fan of singer-songwriter stuff (when done well obviously).

Came across a pretty good acoustic EP by Dallas Green, who is the singer in the rock group ALEXISONFIRE. It's called the Myspace Transmissions by City and Colour (which is Dallas Green's pseudonym for doing his acoustic stuff).

The two best tracks off it are
BODY IN A BOX


and
THE GIRL

took me quite a while to remember enough of this song after countless nights hearing it totally shitfaced. it's simply awesome.

was doing a bit of a browse of the ol' music library and came across the album "ALOPECIA" by the band WHY?. Forgot how good that album is. Impressive variety of songs, very original sound, and lyrics which range from the poetic to the bizarre. All in all, a good mix. Not to everyone's taste though. Tough to choose a good intro for people, but this track is probably as good as any.

Saw this band live last weekend and they rocked! I haven't had much interest with psychobilly in the past but with bands like this I can see that changing.
