Anyone pay much attention to the MOBO awards ever? I just want to question their validity as a legitimate area for awards.
"Music Of Black Origin"
What does that mean anyway? As far as I can tell, pretty much EVERY type of music in western culture has some black influence, seeing as most of it stems from Rock and Roll, which itself was influenced by black people and the black culture in America. Then you have ALL dance music from D&B to house to trance, having its origin in music made by black people.
Even worse is the fact that only ONE category recognises traditional and pop music from African nations, which is surely the origin of a lot more black music than some east coast gangsters or Bristol badboys.
And its not like the awards are restricted to people who are black, so surely everything except perhaps traditional folk and country music should be included under this banner. Failing this the awards are a nonsense and should just be called "Music That Conforms To Western Urban Style".
Thats what I think anyway.

Coldplay - In My Place
I've been listening to Coldplay's album "A Rush of Blood to the Head" lately and really like it. I actually prefer it over their new album.

I don't think it was a waste of thought and I'm tired of everyone thinking they have god given right to criticise what certain people post. It's a thought about music which considering this is a music thread is perfectly acceptable, its not spam or any thing like that so give it rest
I agree totally with the post.

Arsis - The Face Of My Innocence
This song, and band, are actually quite bad. I think I'll clean my ears out...
Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Static
Ahh.
