Staying with the recent theme ...
And what better way to capture that feeling of doom than this ditty from original Doom.
And something to lighten the mood. Sing along but...we'll you can probably figure it out.

Okay, I think I may have sorted out why Billie Eilish is so popular. She's not my cup of tea and I think she is way overrated and the opinions that she is a transformative artist are laughable. But, her popularity just so coincidentally (or not so coincidentally) coincides with the explosion of the ASMR trend. So I think her whispered singing appeals to this audience, which is rather sizable if one examines how popular ASMR is on youtube. Warning you though, don't search ASMR on youtube... just don't.

Been listening to Danish artist Myrkur's Folkesange album, and it's stunningly great!

Myrkur is ace. You should also check out Skuggsja (dude from Wardruna and dude from Enslaved making a Norwegian folk/ambient/metal/whatever else project) and Katla (dude who used to drum for Solstafir and another dude make a moody atmospheric Icelandic rock thing) for similar but also very different things.
A Haunting Poem
I Scream
You Scream
We all Scream
For I Scream.
I Scream
You Scream
We all Scream
For I Scream.

You may hate both but I massively dig the Scandinavian folk/atmospheric/crossover stuff and each one is quite unique.

'Songwriting Legend John Prine Is Hospitalized And In Critical Condition Due To Coronavirus Complications
[...] He was intubated on Saturday evening and continues to receive care, but his situation is critical.'

'Prine’s startlingly beautiful track from 2018’s The Tree of Forgiveness tops this list because it is quintessential Prine. For almost five decades, Prine’s lyrical storytelling has been virtually unmatched, combining searing and witty lyrics with careful instrumentation, and “Summer’s End” is no exception.'
