Man, I LOVE me some RATM.
Also Zack's recent work with RTJ (including the latest album that was released yesterday) is excellent!

Dammit party people! 2020 has been a real buzz kill and its made all my summer rage spots as tepid as grandma's Thursday afternoon bridge club with her fellow blue hairs. So imma throw it back a year and pull back some fond memories of going hard, double fisting, raging mayhem while this little ditty was playing in the background. Remember 2019? Y'all probably would tolerate another months on end run of this song if it meant 2020 could be different.

Heard this while doing the weekend errand list on the local "alt" radio station. I think the station was playing songs that are representative of the times we are living. Posting here, just cause. Also, memba the version when Gears of War launched? memba that?

'The King of Han executes the sword maker
when he fails to deliver a sword on time.
His son Nie Zheng
makes up his mind to avenge his father's death.
So he goes into the mountains for ten years,
learns to play the qin
and becomes a famous qin player,
giving performances all over the country.
The king hears of his fame
and asks him to perform in the palace.
Nie Zheng thus realizes his long cherished wish
and kills the King of Han.
Fearing his family might be in danger
if his identity is known,
Nei Zheng defaces his face beyond recognition
and commits suicide.'

Guys, you disappoint. We are rushing full steam now to the back side of summer 2020 and barely any #BangerSummer2020 posts. Dammit guys, do I have to do all the heavy lifting?
This one be a pop-a-loppin' all over my area code. #BangerSummer2020
And then the next morning, need this one after dragging in after 2am and waking up with a raging hangover. #ChillSummer2020

'Curtis Waters, TikTok king: "There are no gatekeepers to the industry anymore"
He started lockdown as a student making music in his bedroom and emerged three months later as the next big thing in pop – all thanks to a 15-second music clip posted online
Curtis Waters went into lockdown a 20-year-old student with a part-time job making smoothies. He'll leave a fully- fledged pop star, despite the fact he has barely stepped foot outside the house.
"It has been so crazy," he says, grinning, from his home in North Carolina. He looks young, with a fresh white T-shirt, hoop earrings and a mop of wavy hair. "Out of nowhere all this noise: everybody is staring at me, everybody wants something from me." It's still sinking in that he has entered what he calls the "realm of endless possibilities".
[...] Over the past 12 months, TikTok has seen a steady flow of musicians go viral on the platform: new releases clocking up hundreds of millions of views in as little as 24 hours, often before they've taken off elsewhere. It's a feeding ground for labels on the hunt for fresh talent: execs desperate to sign up artists who've proven their popularity before they transition to streaming services and the charts.
Rapper Lil Nas X may be the platform's most famous musical success story, but there have been many more.'

Open Mike Eagle's bars on this one are hilarious - and you can't really go wrong with MF DOOM and Czarface together:
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. Bertrand Russell

In my recentish K-Pop Discovery phase I found STRAY KIDS...and this track was my introduction to them and it's straight goddamn fire.
