Yeah. I've spent a few minutes sampling her older stuff, and I quite like it!

She's tops but she's one of them artists who keeps her stuff off Spotify so I had to peace out on her newest album.

Gusty: Here's some of the stuff I spin on a regular basis. I'll post up a few different bands over the next couple days for you to peruse.

First up is the Dear Hunter: This track was off their first album.

This next one was off the newest release last year.

Next up is Astronautalis. He has an interesting rap/alt combination that I really enjoy. The first track came out about 4 years back.

This one came off his newest release.

So I got back from Bloodstock Open Air festival yesterday, and all I can say is Gojira are simply immense live, I have never been a huge fan of them on studio recording, but after seeing that live performance I am definitely going to give them a more extensive listen, honestly the only performance I saw all weekend that was as good or better was Anthrax - who outshone their big 4 brethren Slayer pretty comprehensively tbh.

Evil Scarecrow are fucking amazing as well; CRABULON, CRABULON, CRABULON! :o

That video is actually Evil Scarecrow at BOA 2014, not this year, but I can't find a full video of that yet, so good live

I love Gojira but haven't ever managed to see them live. However they are one of the support acts for Alterbridge in November and I got tickets for that so I'm so hyped for it!

Did you Canadians all watch the final Tragically Hip concert? I don't know this band at all, aside from their rep over the years, but it seems pretty emotional.

A fellow Bloodstocker!

Haven't been for a couple of years now (last went for the day for Emperor in 2014) but it's still good to find other folks who frequent it! ^_^

It's a nice festival, though part of the reason I haven't been recently (lineup taste aside) is I think it's gotten to be quite pricey for what it is. I know you shouldn't compare to the festivals on the continent as their financial structures/support are different, but festivals in the UK do start to look like very poor value.

It's still way better value than Download, and that's not simply for lineup issues alone - of which Download clearly has commensurately more simply because of it's wider range - the general atmosphere and as well as ease of access compared to the sprawling site at Donnington are worth the money in my honest opinion, so if you're limited to British festivals, it's definitely the best in my opinion.

It is a pricey compared to European counterparts though, I can understand what you're saying about the continent looking better value, my mate went to Metal Days in Slovenia this year and the cost (travel aside of course) was just so much better it's pretty crazy. I desperately want to go to one of the continental metal festivals one day, I still need to sort out a passport first though lol

This was actually my first Bloodstock though, and by god I never want to miss it again, the entire experience was just amazing tbh. I'm still suffering from the Bloodstock Blues ^_^

This popped up as a suggested song when listening to various songs on youtube. Love Jason Molina (Songs:Ohia). So sad that someone so talented basically drank himself to death in his 30's.

I know his music wouldn't be to everyone's taste, but he sure can write a mean lyric at times.

Anyway, this is THE BLACK CROW by Songs:Ohia (which you could also easily turn into a MAlazan themed song)

What a coinkydink! I've been listening to this one a whole lot lately.

Definitely one of the all-time very best lyricists imo.
