OK I have only fairly recently found this band, but I am completely and utterly in love with them. They play metal (but no screaming for those of you who don't like that) but it is a very progressive style of metal with a bunch of jazzy interludes and crazy musical breaks. They also do some brilliant vocal parts (I would recommend "The Cockroach King" from their album The Mountain for that. Heck, that whole album is mind blowing anyway!) I present Haken:

Yeah, that is just one song at 22 minutes long...

BABYMETAL is the only true metal.

They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Hey, I'm new on this site, although I've red every malazan book possible already.
And the reason, why my first post is here is that I just want to share with all of You with this.

Violin, Desert, Metal.

These are few words that don't match together until You listen to this:

Those are the sounds that I have been listening while reading all the books from Erikson. It was like every time I read any part of it, in my mind I can hear them. And every time I hear them, I remember quotes from the book.

Jelonek has two albums actually, First, Jelonek from 2007 and Revenge from 2011.

Hope You like it and that I will be a part of this community.

Kawaii sugoi desu metal. :) Too brutal to deal with.

And now something utterly grimdark:

I have a ticket to a Finntroll concert on Single Awareness Day. No luck with musclebound Scottish Vampires, so perhaps a troll instead... :)

If you're not coming from a BABYMETAL perspective, then I welcome you to a BABYMETAL perspective. All other roads are lost.

When did Pinkie Pie set up a metal band? :)

Here's some new Metsatöll. Both Estonian and Finnish at least have the advantage of sounding like the incessant drunken swearing of a troll horde.

Alas, even an asthmatic crow sometimes dreams of producing the sweet, glib melodies of a graceful nightingale... :)

Despite some cookie monster vocals, that song is pretty awesome. I cannot deny it.

I know right? I mean yeah the end of it is just strange beyond my non-Japanese comprehension, but truly a great piece of art. :)

I highly recommend you all stop doing what you are doing and go get the new Sun Kil Moon record. It's...perfect.

Theorizing that one could poop within his own lifetime, Doctor Poopet led an elite group of scientists into the desert to develop a top secret project, known as QUANTUM POOP. Pressured to prove his theories or lose funding, Doctor Poopet, prematurely stepped into the Poop Accelerator and vanished. He awoke to find himself in the past, suffering from partial amnesia and facing a mirror image that was not his own. Fortunately, contact with his own bowels was made through brainwave transmissions, with Al the Poop Observer, who appeared in the form of a hologram that only Doctor Poopet could see and hear. Trapped in the past, Doctor Poopet finds himself pooping from life to life, pooping things right, that once went wrong and hoping each time, that his next poop will be the poop home.

Thanks, haven't heard it yet but have heard good things. But Kozelek stuff always really depends on my mood.

Anyway, I came to say De La Soul are giving away all their albums for free today at their site: http://www.wearedelasoul.com/
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Yeah, I know about that mood thing with Kozelek. But this one transcends that. Its just amazing. I had a discussion with a buddy of mine on FB about this record and MK's ability to express himself amidst melancholy. Its a singular talent. No one else like him out there. This latest record is his masterpiece.

On the De La thing, I'm like "Thanks, but I already bought them all on tape and CD, some of them twice. Hopefully some young'uns pick them up and learn a thing or three. I still think they are like in the bottom half of the top 20 hip hop groups ever, but they did do something different, and Prince Paul is one of the best producers of all time. And fuck it, cuz its all free, right?

The latest M.I.A. album Matangi is destroying me with excellence.

Also, the latest KOAN SOUND EP Sanctuary is nothing short of their best effort.
