Nils Frahm is out with a new album. All Melody. I haven't been able to listen yet, but I am quite confident it's going to be great. I'll get to see him play here in Oslo on the 14th of February, which considering how my lovelife seems to be progressing, might turn out to be a bit of an issue, but I'm seeing his concert anyway!

"Hey so I really want to be with you on Valentine's Day but I've had tickets for this concert since forever. You have become a very important part of my life and I'd love to get some incredible experiences with you, how do you feel about coming with me?"

Solved!

I agree with Tiste's idea...and on the off chance you somehow can't get tickets for her to come with you (or she's not into that)...suggest something before or after the show (drinks or food or whathaveyou). This way lou still see your show, but you're not neglecting the day with the new romance.

That is an excellent idea though. One could think you were married or something!

Wait for a second there I thought you meant QT was married to me...

What a ridiculous idea!

I don't have a scrapbook about it or stalk him or anything!

Morgoth, after you mentioned this artist here (who I'd never heard of), I youtubed his stuff...and oh man, I have to thank you. It's AMAZING.

I always pay attention when Morgy recommends music. He got me into the Helge Lien Trio among other immense artists. ^_^

Found an artist called Yunomi on Bandcamp who collabs (as far as my understanding goes) with a singer called Nicamoq. Imagine if Kyary was still all about the cute but without the crazy, indeed relaxed almost. Absolutely beautiful album.

I was on the tram on the way to work last week and the young black lady sitting next to me tapped me on the shoulder to show me a text she'd just written to her sister:

"The guy sitting next to me has the hippest music collection I've ever seen!"

Kinda weird... I'm definitely not hip Posted Image

If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. You've reached the point now, SM, where you've moved from being an Eccentric Dude to a Cool Old Man.

One of my mates (the former frontman of Enochian Theory who you should check out) posted this recently. I rather enjoyed it.

Yeah it's utterly bonkers but I really like it!

I think you recommended Enochian Theory before. I've definitely heard Evolution before at any rate. Have stuck their latest one on now. :)

Single off the forthcoming Kamelot album, THE SHADOW THEORY called RAVENLIGHT. Pretty solid stuff. Pre-ordered the album already as usual, and will probably play the utter crap out of it like I did with HAVEN.

I encourage everyone to seek out Doomtree Records stuff, like SHREDDERS. Amazing hip hop.

Was listening to the latest "Sound Opinions" podcast. Its focus was on their favorites from SXSW 2018. This band was listed. Its derivative of or takes a major influence from certain bands and/or genre (80s?), but I can't put my finger on it. Maybe you musicologists or music historians can help me out and let me know what this draws influence from?

Kinda sounds like if you put every song on the Donnie Darko soundtrack into a blender.

It does kinda spark some more specific things in the back of my head that aren't quite bubbling up.

Actually, maybe most directly it sounds like New Order?

They came with white hands and left with red hands.
