I didn't much care for that song the first time I heard it. When I stopped thinking of them as a metal band their current direction made a lot more sense.

They never really were, more industrial.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

From Blood onwards yeah, but Beautiful Tragedy and A Star Crossed Wasteland are both undeniably metalcore. The Dream is more of a hard rock album. Up until Blood they didn't really use any industrial elements.

If this is what Lupe's new album is going to sound like I am beyond hype. I love this shit. I love the way 'Pizza Man' becomes homophone for 'peace of man' in the course changing the entire meaning of the title of the song while strengthening the lyrics in the song.

Heads up, in lieu of the album leaking onto the net 3 months early Bjork has decided to release her album officially. Vulnicura will be rolling out on iTunes around the world in the next 24 hours.

Couple great things lately:

New single from Tricot, a japanese noisy math rock band that is just so wonderful time after time:

New ep from Mike Eagle. Every song is solid, but this is the one I keep on repeat:

They came with white hands and left with red hands.

A mate from college's band is about to drop their debut full length.

If you've heard of them I'll be impressed. It's most easily summarised as really dirty misanthropic grindcore.
