Kiska - Giggle in Bulgarian

I have stolen princesses from sleeping barrow kings
I have burned the town of Trebon
I have spent the night with Felurian and left with both my sanity and my life
I was expelled from the University at a younger age most people are allowed in
I tread paths by moonlight that others fear to speak of during the day
I have talked to Gods, loved women, and written songs that make minstrels cry
You may have heard of me....

Well, in Polish 'stan' means state and 'Kapusta' means cabbage so despite of all horrible things that happen there everytime I read Capustan I think about fields of cabbage streching evrywhere - a mental image akin to Sto Plains on Discworld

And 'Dar' means Gift.

Logros may have come from the Greek word Logos, meaning anything from word, speech, tale, story, reckoning, account, proportion, reason, and rationality
but if i had to make a connection i'd say that since Logros is the leader of the first clan of the first empire, it's a connection to the phrase "In the beginning there was the word (logos) and the word was god"

Logros is also the power of chaos in the amber chronicles by Zelazny so it could be from there. But he could easily have been insipired by Logos.

Not so much a name meaning but it's interesting. The idea for Drift Avalii may have come from reading Greek/Roman mythology. The island of Delos (birthplace of Apollo and Artemis) was supposed to have been a wandering island that drifted about the Aegean until the Gods (maybe Apollo, i forget) pinned it down in a permanent location.

Delos was "pinned down" because it allowed Leto to give birth to Apollo and Artemis. Hera hounded her through all the known lands, refusing to let her give birth due to Zeus' infidelity. It is never really mentioned which gods anchored the island, only that it was a gift from the gods in return for offering Leto a sanctuary.
The possibility of Drift Avalii being pinned down is intriguing. If the right person sat on that throne....

Just came across a reference to "Assail" from an Irish/Celtic legend. One of the celtic gods, Lugh, had a magical weapon called the spear of assal, or Gae Assail in the irish language.
Had me curious as to where Assail was supposed to be, but there is differing info there. Some refences say that Assal/Assail was a person/god, while others refer to an island, or the wild lands.
But, Assal is thought to be a derivative of Asal, the Irish word for Ass/Donkey. So this must mean that the continent of Assail, is the home of the magical donkeys that help Pust and Kruppe. ;-)

On a tangent to name meanings, I realized as I was reading RG that I say shadowthORN instead of shadowthrone. Mostly because it is more descriptive...

Maybe Forkrul Assail comes from "For K'rul, assail"? I'm not sure tere are any reference about that in books. That's just my idea.

Can anyone work out:

I was under the impression that Pearl was not Pearl's real name, but rather a pseudonym, for he leaves a pearl with his victims, like he did with the woman at the end of HoC, can't remember her name though. In DG when the Claw is hunting Kalam Topper speaks to Kalam through a corpse and he calls Pearl Salk Elan, perhaps it is more than just a made up name then.
