Y'know, on the one hand this thread has brought a lot of peeps over to Dresden, buton the other having to spoilerblock everything is turning into a pain - anyone object to just sticking SPOILERS in the threadhead???
Onwords...

I'm all for a dresden files spoiler thread if people want it, perhaps leave this one for newbies to discuss the series and create a small favour spoiler thread for up to date discussion?

Has anyone noticed that they are reissuing the first Dresden File books in hardcover now? Great covers.

I note that due to the forum shift, many many spoilers in earlier posts are now uncovered.
Since there are many 'what to read' threads, and Dresden routinely gets pimped, perhaps we can just retitle this one?
- Abyss, ..because yes, discussing even OTHER authors is more entertaining on this forum...

Disturbing how true that is.
I did a quick run thru of the thread and there are all kinds of spoilers after the first two pages or so. That said, everything is at least marked 'SPOILERS'. Kind of amazing how many forumites this thread brought in to the Dresden books, actually.
Anyhoo, i'm easy with a retitle, or thread division. Thinkyz?

There's going to be a new Dresden Files book at the end of this month, Backup. A short novel with his brother Thomas doing the rescuing for a change.

Yup, I am with Abyss on the retitling to spoiler thread territory now. It's time.

I saw a ref to that on the Butcher forum, but isn't it a limited release high price thing along the lines of the original NoK?
- Abyss, struggles with paying more for less...

Not quite that pricey, though still expensive considering it's only 80 pages. Amazon.ca currently has it for CDN$ 15.44.

I am VERY, very tempted to do a re-read of the entire series at this point, after which I should think TurnCoat should be close to coming out. I especially look forward to re-reading Death Masks, Dead Beat, and Proven Guilty!! What a great series this!!

I did a reread fairly recently... what's awesome is how many things Butcher put in place before they happen books later, and also how many little promises of things to come are dotted about the place.
I'm not talking quality of series (although Butcher definitely goes thereabouts, and it's been said already that for sheer consistency he beats Erikson), but in terms of balancing the series plotlines and each book, Butcher is making both Martin and Erikson look like amateurs. Ten books in and nary a hitch I can find, and plot points laid down in book four still yet to surface - yet each individual book works as a whole. Sure, they're all pretty similar in structure, but when it ain't broke...
Here's hoping he can keep it up for the full twenty-three.

Has anyone read the new Novella?
Pat's got a link to Subterranean Press on his front page, and the front page of that was that there's new Dresden!
It's called Backup, and it's from Thomas' point of view instead of Dresden's. Any news about it?

I plan to pick up Backup when I can get my hands on it, and Blood Lite (another anthology with a Dresden short story in it) comes out soon as well.

Being a bit bored, and seeing as I really love the Dresden Files, I just did a complete edit of the thread. I may have missed a couple of posts but most should now have their spoiler boxes working again.
Keep in mind it was a quick runthrough and I didn't proofread posts, there may still be spoilers that were outside black boxes.
