Dead Beat was brilliant! Once again, Butcher knocks it up a few notches. Man, do I love this series! What I loved about this one is that Harry gets involved in the hairy situation(s) that he has to deal with, but on top of that we get all these side running things that he touched on in a few of the earlier books (The Denarius coin/Lasciel, The Wardens and the council) added onto that coming together in longer series-length plot threads. A solid read all the way through!

Up next: Proven Guilty!

ah yes... i miss the days when I could read book after book of dresden and see no end in sight... alas now I am cought up and have to wait year to year like everyone else...:)

I feel your pain. It was a glorious run all the way up thru PROVEN GUILTY, a short wait for WHITE KNIGHT, and then a long year to SMALL FAVOR.

On the bright side, JB is SE-like is hammering out quality product on a predictable timeline which i REALLY appreciate in a writer. It's one thing to write a great series. It's another to keep doing so on a steady rate that keeps the fans sated (see also: not GRRM, not late-RJ, not JV Jones...).

- Abyss, all about momentum...

That's a big hearty truth about the series. He bangs them out as fast as some thriller writers can, but the great thing is that the quality not only seems to stay at a high level, but increases with each volume.

Tremmy, some advice. Order them all, now. You will not want to stop reading the Adventures of Harry Dresden.

It amuses me how many people, including me, have arrived in this topic with 'just bought the first x books' and returned a week later with 'noes I've run out of Dresden goodness!'.

It's a bit moreish, innit?

Still got a kidney?

If so you have one up on everyone that order the GotM limited edition of RotCG book.

(I miss that kidney, righty was always my favorite. He kept homeostatic balance the bestest.)

Going on vacation next week, plan on bringing the old Dresdeb novesl with, awesome, awesome books to read on vacation.

or you know, steal his weed and sell it back to him. Less bloody, and probably less illegal.

Abyss seemed to mention about hearing he will do 20 Dresden Files, and then a final Apocalyptic trilogy to cap it off. Sounds effing good to me, it means I ahve at least 13 more books to look forward to.

Oh, BTW, 5 chapters into Proven Guilty now....Goddamn but he likes to kick things off with a bang don't he?! Loving it, Butcher is awesome!
