Right, since i'm not as trustworthy as I thought I was, I didn't get to finihs my post yesterday.. It seems I'm much too slow to keep so many cards close to my chest and thus I thought to provide some more info on the plotline though I'll stil keep a few secrets :(

The Emperor's bodyguards are the result of a..erm.. breeding program. There's an older race which when duying out bred with humans from time to time, so there's remnants of their bloodline in the human race. In some more than others. What the emperor has been doing for the last five thousand years inside his palace is to atempt to purify this ancinet blood and thus resurect the species, obviously under his control.

The species name is the Morée. They're human in apperance, tall very muscular but slender. So more martial arts body than that of a weight lifter. They're generaly dark haired and their skin is marble white.. They are much much much stronger faster and such than humanity but most importantly, they're highly resistan to magic. Mentally they are more like cats, predators, than humans -they're not omnivores- and act thus. Bear in mind that this is the pure Morée, and not the Emperor's guards who're merely pale reflections.

Anyways, there's three Lauren fleets, one at each continent. The one we've come across is the biggest. My plan was for them to make landfall in the south west of the continent around the time the delegation show up at the Island.

Yeah, I realised today I've forgotten to add something. I do not play around with ascension and such but there's a way apart from divine blessings and strong magic to live longer than a normal lifespan. Consider for instance one who had his whole family slaughtered in perhaps a brutal fashion, he might become so bitter, so hatefull that he becomes a being focused solely on revenge against those who did it. If so, the person might live until his task is done, nourished as they say, by hatred. Again, as with strong magic and such, this is such a rare occurence it's considered myth.
And just to make it clear, the emperor does not fall into this category :D

So, we should be able to expand the scope of the rpg to the landing site of the Lauren's etc as we go along. I'm unsure whether we should take things to the Lauren homelands though if we continue long enough I spose it should be a possibility.

Always liked to say this when I worked as a teacher: "any questions?" :p

Presumably the powerful mages can briefly enchant something...after all, the crystal ran out of steam pretty quickly.

Which leads me to wonder, could a mage of the lower level enchant something really briefly, eg. could he enchant a dart to set on fire and then throw the dart, kinda of a smart way around not being able to throw elemental fire?

as Cause said, though if the dart was soaked in oil or something.

Hm.. The thought behind magic and all..

Imagine if a mage was able to produce permanent wards, enchant weapons etc. What would stop a powerfull one from taking control of a continent? By making them vunerable to a crossbow bolt and so on, makes them rely on others for protection and so they're not invunerable.

:D

As you guys may have noticed, I haven't posted for a while...I'm suffering from time shortages, so I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to play any more :D...still, feel free to keep my house in if you like, I may find some time later to rejoin.

Sir Thursday
Don't look now, but I think there's something weird attached to the bottom of my posts.

Hey all!, new person joining! I love hows its progressing so far! Heres my character:

Name: Manfred Becker
Age: 26
Occupation: Freelance mercenary
Weapons and armour: 2 short swords, dagger, bow with a quiver of arrows. Leather armour with gaunlets on both hands.
Birth Place: one of the tiny villages in Bargath
Background:
From an early age Manfred had a liking to play with wooden swords like most of his age. Most of his early age was with the local guards in the village, helping with going around with a patrol usually by day because his parents were worried if he went out at night withg the patrol that he might get killed. As he was growing up he spent most of his time was practicing with swords, daggers, and bows. Once he was old enough he joined the village guard, he spent most of his years was with the village guard, but he wanted to explore the land. So he set off at the age of 20, hiring on with a merchant that was travelling around the nearby town as a bodyguard. He spent 2 years travelling with the merchant, until he got to Mixenden which is a city in the south. He had seen cities before on his travels with the merchant, but he never seen this spectacular, with buildings the size of a warehouse with globe topped roofs(like the kremlin in russia), he was stunned how beatiful this city was. Manfred stayed in the city for 4 years in which he was hired by a local merchant as a bodyguard, then he was jailed for 2 months for which he didnt do nothing but he the city watch was not interested in listening to him. When he came out of prision he found himself with no money nor did he get his weapons back, so he found a job in a local in a tavern in which he helped the owners family with the work. One day during his stay at the tavern there was a brawl in which a young girl was caught up in it so Manfred got into the brawl, subdued a couple of patrons with a couple of well aimed punches to their face, eventually he got the girl who was hiding underneth a table which was in the middle of the brawl, so he got the girl under one arm while pushing himself through the brawl to get to the other side. He got there but with a few minor bruises and scratches, the girl was a bit bruised but otherwise unscathed, he gave the girl over to the tavern owner and he got back into the brawl but by then the guard turned up and started to breakup the brawl. When all the patrons left and the girl safely returned to her family, the tavern owner told him that he can go and he shouldnt be here at all. So Manfred bought a horse and some new armour and weapons, and he started travelling around the island, then on his way to the City, he saw a group of bandits attacking a coach which looked like it could be someone important so he attacked and killed most of the bandits that were attacking the coach, the rest of them turned tail and fled the area. He saw about 5 guards that were dead which looked liked they were his/her bodyguard. Manfred went to the coach and had a look inside the coach, he saw that there were 5 people in the coach, all of them were wearing fine clothing and looked like some guild members or some very important people. One of the people introduced himself as Mikel von Kluer who is a guild member of the merchants guild who is also a member of a house but Manfred cant remember which one. So he escorted them to the capital, and he found residence in the house of Mikel von Kluer, which is situated within a compound of a house.
Now Manfred is a guard to the Von Kluer family, but he is also looking for other jobs as well, so he is moslty wondering around the city whilst not being a guard of the Von Kluer family. He has heard rumours that an army from somewhere is heading towards the island, but that is all he found out from Mikel.

cool...
new blood...
although i have to point out that you just missed the council meeting...
Question:

Does being the only sane person in the world make you insane?

If a tree falls in the woods and a deaf person saw it, does it make a sound?

Actually only the K and L are capitalised and why should I reveal my grand master plan?!

Seriously, it may have been more or less an attempt at disrupting the system, it could also have been a grotesque training exercise though it might have been to slip an illegal item into the city, any number of things.
