As for the person who said that Manning was top 10 QB: I agree. I am completely biased and think he is one of the greatest quarterbacks ever. But, it isn't the pass game that wins in the playoffs. I know this. I've seen it the past 6 years when the Colts one 12 games each regular season and then got shut down in the playoffs. With Clark, Wayne, and Manning locked up the Colts potential play-action pass capabilities are absolutely enormous with a running attack that is dominant.
The Colts just got unlucky. As I mentioned above, I am a big Charger fan. However, I can admit that the Colts got screwed. They should have got the Chargers at home with a better record, and if they win that coin flip, there is no doubt that Manning takes them down the field for a score and win. I don't know that the Colts are really missing all that much. Manning is one of the top 5 QBs to ever play, and even as a fan of an opposing team, you can't help but love the guy.
Also, I don't know that the Colts match up well with the Chargers. The ideal scenario would have been for the Colts to get the Dolphins and let the Ravens play the Chargers. It's kind of like New England is with San Diego, we just don't match up well. If the Colts would have ended up winning that game, I would not have been surprised at all to see them win the Superbowl. I don't think that it's that their passing game is not built for the playoffs, I think they just need to avoid playing San Diego.
If Indy was going into Pitt this week wouldn't you feel pretty confident, after the beat down you put on them in Pitt earlier in the year? If they would have won that coin flip, I wouldn't have been surprised at all if they ran the table.
