Is the ball and chain anti-FF? I've seen that happen a couple times with friends.

Anways, then you can sit at the side at the dance while all us cool kids make fools of ourselves. :D
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Nah, she's cool with it. I've jut never been very interested in it myself. I love football, but don't need to obsess over individual players stats all season. Fantasy sports are just D&D for the kids who always thought they were too cool to play D&D! :D

Not to take joy in a player being injured or anything, but...

Feel free to take joy in that. Drink deeply of that joy, and swim around in pools of joyous joyfulness.

As per FF: The comparison to D & D isn't very valid. But, I'm sure you weren't meaning it to be one. And, while at one time I would have labelled D & D players nerds, I've grown up and say to each their own.

Nerd. :D

I think it's pretty valid. One has grown men pretending to be fantasy characters, obsessing over numbers and stats while playing make believe that they are someone they will never be. The other has grown men pretending to be football coaches, obsessing over numbers and stats while playing make believe that they are someone they will never be. The biggest difference is that the FF guys are more likely to play dress up with jerseys than the D&D guys are with wizard hats. They're more similar than you think!

I've got nothing against FF though. I just don't have a desire to play.

Just a couple more pre-season games to go and then we are into a new NFL regular season.

Who is impressing you in pre-season ?

I'm loving 5'8'' 194 lb RB Justin Forsett for the Seahawks and I'm hoping they can find a spot on the roster for this guy who has 28 carries for 194 yds @ 6.9 ave.

Which rookies are going to help your team ?
What Would Jack Do ?

Marcus Howard DE, Pierre Garcon WR, Curtis Johnson DT, Eric Foster DT, Mike Hart RB, Mike Pollak G, Jacob Tamme TE.

Pollak and Tamme could be starters

Howard, Johnson, & Foster will be in the D-line rotation.

Hart will be #3 RB

And Garcon will be good for WR depth after last years plague of injuries.

I guess Manning made an appearance today. He indicated he plans to start the first game. I hope he doesn't lose his consecutive games streak.

He won't. If they have to he'll force them to have him out there run one running play and then put in the Sorginator.

I, on the other hand, hope he does just that.

Your man crush on Favre is bordering on the absurd RLY, the guy throws 5 passes for 48 yards and everyone starts screaming that he's the best!

You know the Madden curse is going to get him right?

QUOTE (Stalker @ Jan 23 2009, 01:09 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
So last night I was walking downtown for some pizza at like 1am with some friends of mine,
and someone said, "I'm so hungry I could eat a whole pizza."

I said, "I bet I could eat 100 pizzas," and no one understood me. I was sad.

He would be the best even if hadn't played at all in that game! Of course that game doesn't mean much, other than showing he's at least a little comfortable with the offense. It wasn't spectacular, but it was solid. His arm still works. He looked good for the little time he was in. It could have been worse. I'm sure if he had gone 0/5 with a pick you would be screaming that he is washed up.

I am deathly afraid of the Madden Curse hitting favre this season.

Heh, Matt Ryan looked good as well for the Falcons, but it's pre-season Ray Ray.

It's better to look good in preseason than to look bad.

The Colts and Patriots(HISS!) disagree with that statement!
