I will be at home watching it live on BBC2, (never thought those words would be uttered), sans tickets, frustratedly sitting all of 20miles away. Grrr. It's on for so long it changes channel halfway through though lol, starts 16:30, ends at 9 iirc. ;)

This was my first fantasy week so Im 0-1, but I have high hopes now I've got Ryan in and Elam's back off bye week. As long as Steven Jackson's fit, I'll be fine! Hopefully by next season I'll have learnt more than 50 players' names and know who's good or not and be able to pick a decent side, then we can do a Malaz league and all suffer the shame of losing to a Brit. :D

As an aside, when's the college season played? Is that the same time? I suppose it must be for the draft to work properly. I'd quite like to start watching some and keep an eye out for good rookies for next season.

College season has been going on for a while now. I don't follow it and have drastically cut back on my NFL watching, so I can't help you there. Sorry, bub.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

If you had a Setanta subscription you can watch College football on NASN on Saturdays they usually have several games ..... as a big NFL fan I have to admit I find the college game a little difficult to watch, too many big blowouts and mismatch games for me. Also spotting stars at this level can be difficult as many players are products of systems and schemes that allow them to produce big numbers against inferior opposition. I see now why finding a good quarterback in the NFL is so difficult !

I have Setanta at home, I may well do that.

That was a great game at Wembley, although it did remind me why I never watch NFL games the whole way through. They just stop so often it's comic. Im also astounded by the shoddiness of the kickers. How do you miss an XPA?! You're like 20 yards away!!! This is what happens if you insert a kicking part into a game played only by a country that doesnt play anything where feet are required. Felt sorry for the Chargers too, some baaad penalt calls really fucked them up.

Top game though, I was ont he edge of my seat right til the death, cant wait foe next years game (if it's in Wembley and not shitting Murrayfield liek theyre suggesting now), then I'll have moneys and can go! Huzzah!

XPA's are an odds thing. Think of how many hundreds of kicks a kicker makes through his career. The chances that he'll miss one every once in a while are pretty good. So many variables besides just the kick- the snap, the hold, the placement, etc. That being said, they should never miss such an easy kick.

FUCK.

I dropped Cutler for Ryan again this week. He threw for 447 yards. Shite. Ryan better equal that, or I'll be pissed. I also plead ignorance for my WRs being so shit. How the hell was I sposed to know there'd be so many with the surname Johnson?!

My team at the moment is:

Matt Ryan
Steven Jackson
LenDale White
Antonio Gates
Lavearneus Coles
Matt Jones
Muhsin Muhammad
Jason Elam
Jaguars DST

What do you guys think?

My bench is Jay Cutler, Mewelde Moore, Lance Moore, Greg Olsen, Rams DST. Do you guys think I should make any changes this week?

I think you need to start making some trades. Your bench isn't very strong, and NEVER bench Cutler...especially against the Browns.

No worries though, the guy I'm playing this week had him and will probably stomp me into the dirt.

So last night I was walking downtown for some pizza at like 1am with some friends of mine,
and someone said, "I'm so hungry I could eat a whole pizza."

I said, "I bet I could eat 100 pizzas," and no one understood me. I was sad.

Yeah, I really want some better WRs in there, but the sods in my league have taken all the others I've heard of lol. Plus any defence worth it's salt.

My team is as follows, and it's pretty solid.

QB - Peyton Manning
RB - Marion Barber
RB - Willie Parker
RB - Pierre Thomas
WR - Santana Moss
WR - Bernard Berrian
WR - Plaxico Burress
WR - Santonio Holmes
WR - Roy Williams
WR - Steve Smith
TE - Dallas Clark
DEF - Chicago
DEF - Minnesota
K - Jason Elam

Pretty much any of those players are pretty solid, with the exception of Steve Smith (Giants) and Pierre Thomas, so if any of those are readily available, jump on em quick.

12 teams. Won yesterday for a change, and all I had to do was score 102 points, more than anyone else.

Someone's offered me a trade, do you think it's worth swapping Lavearneus Coles to get Steve Smith (of the Panthers)?

Without question, Coles is a second rate WR, Smith is top tier...surprised someone would offer that, they got any other good players they want to trade you for some middle-of-the-pack players?

EDIT: Damn, I lost this week. Combine that with other crazy matchups and we now have an 8 way tie for 2nd place. One guy at 8-2, 8 of us at 5-5 and one at 3-7...wierd. Only 4 more weeks till playoffs and it's completely wide open.

Turned out he wanted Lance Moore thrown in too, but Im happy with that trade so I gots off good.

Who do you think I should start this week, Cutler or Ryan?

I know the Broncos are way more likely to pass, but Ryan's done me proud the last few weeks and the Broncos defence is awful, plus I think maybe the Falcons will defend ok-ish as they'll know to focus on the pass (as Denver cant run).

EDIT: Also, I wanna replace Mewelde Moore as it looks like Parker's back, but there arent many good RBs left - for this week, who do you think's a better choice between Jerious Norwood and Ricky Williams?

Both arent first choice RB's, but both are against bad rush defences in Denver and Oakland. I was leaning towards Norwood as Atlanta should runt he ball well against the Broncos.

Definitely keep Cutler in, after than monster game last week that team is gonna be hot. I'd spread it around though and take the matchup against Oakland for your RB, I generally try not to depend on any single game for a bulk of points...unless it's a really good matchup. Is that really all there is available for RBs?

Might want to think about picking up Cadillac Williams from the Bucs. He might be good to go here in a week or two and that might be a nice gem to get for free.

TT: Start Ricky Williams.

I have both Ricky and Ronnie and am starting both at home against Oakland.

I would guess they will both have 80 yards and a score against a horrible run defense :p

And yes, The Cadillac is someone to look at, but don't depend on him as he likes to blow his knee out.

Cheers guys, Cutler and Williams are into the starting line up, and I've brought in Breaston for Lance Moore as I fancy him to pick up plenty of yards this week!

Cant wait for Sunday now lol!

I've put Cadillac on my scout team to pick up next week if he goes ok, fingers crossed!:p

Who do you fancy for Thursday, Jets or Pats? #im going for the Jets, i think the Pat's injury list is just too long and the Jets are too good scoring right now.

Definitely the Jets, the Pats can't keep up with the score, and Thomas Jones has been a monster of late.

Good call with Breaston, he's been a yardage machine so far this year and Seattle blows nuts. Not to mention he's returning kicks these days, but I don't know if you get points for that in your league.

That's a pretty strong claim coming from a first timer.

I hate these damn school computers that block internet access to anything remotely interesting (besides here, but I'm just waiting for that to get blocked off). I'm sitting here killing time since I don't feel like doing anything and I just want to check my damn team, but noooo it keeps giving me the finger.
