When i heard about the denver/cutler trouble i thought "they are fucked now" but after the trade with Chicago i accually think they got the better deal if they are wise.
What do you guys think, can they with good trades or draftpicks end up the better team?

It all depends what they do with the draft picks. IMO they need to go all D for this year, and use the first 2 picks and ideally the 2nd rounder too on three of DT, DE, LB, CB/S.
The WR corps, O-line (maybe a younger C needed) and the host of backs are good enough, so I say give Orton a year to see what he can do. Then, next year, use the extra first round pick to either package up for the best QB, or take a QB with one and another D player with the other - hopefully a top DB to actually replace John Lynch or partner Champ Bailey.
It all depends on how well the picks are used though, if they use them all to pick busts then it's a definite loss.

There are some "draft experts" out there that are claiming this is one of the worst drafts for picks 1-10 in recent memory. Supposedly the high value picks in this draft are said to start at around pick 20......

A lot of people think the value of round 1 picks have really dropped. Mostly because many teams don't want the huge outlay of $$$$$$ necessary to sign THE #1 ranked QB, WR, DE, etc. in this draft. Guys coming straight out of college that may not even make it in the NFL are commanding more $$$$ than established vets that have made it. That being said....what is the % of QBs that actually become a star and make it in the NFL as a perennial starter???? It probably isn't quite 50%. So, even drafting 2 QBs in Round 1 you might not come out with a franchise QB. Many believe Cutler ranks as a franchise QB. Going to the Bears will hurt him a bit though, because they have no line.
Looking for books that hold a candle to the Malazan series or the Shanara series. PM me if you can recommend one. :)

I'm gonna disagree and say their line is average with the potential for better than average. Kreutz is still a stud and if Pace has 1 good year left and Williams plays like he' capable of they will be OK. Detroit is a team with NO line, big difference.
Leftwich to the Bucs. Personally i'd rather have Jeff Garcia, but who knows.

You gotta think he'll beat out McClown for the starting job, so say hello to your new QB, Bucs. I think Leftwich is very underrated, I must say.
Number 2 QB for my fantasy team I think you'll be, Byron. I have a feeling...

Leftwich always did great when ben was down in Pitt, i think he'll do fine with trhe bucs, and he has antonio bryant, who had a great year.

Colts have 5 prime-time games. Why the Failboys have 6 is unknown.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

There's a lovely stretch where the Broncos play the Cowboys, Pats, Chargers, Ravens, Steelers, Skins, Chargers (again) and Giants all in a row, and I cant see them winning any of those games atm. Sigh. It's going to be a long year...

Bears got 5 also.
Schedule looks very manageable, the out of conf schedule includes Falcons, Bengals, Browns, Cards, Steelers, Niners, Ravens and Rams. Bears got pretty lucky compared to some other schedules i've seen.

Hard to predict how good Broncos will be after all the changes, but of the teams you mentioned i would only say that Giants and Steelers look hard to beat, they should have fair chance against the others.
Strenght of schedule isnt something i consider to be hugely important, but i think 1 team has 4 teams right after their bye week. That sucks.

As long as teams have decent security and make sure no one is taping their pre-game sessions and watch out for illegal taping that will hurt the Patsies. They aren't good enough to win without the illegal stuff in my opinion. Belicheat couldn't Win to save his life with the Browns. The Patriots couldn't win either. Put them together you still have a Losing record. Only when you throw in illegal stuff to the mix do they win.

HoosierDaddy are you worried about your team reaching the playoff this season?
To me it seems like it will be a damn tough division and I am accually thinking the Texans will reach the playoff this year.

I expect to win every game. There's no reason the Colts can't beat a team. Last year, with a shattered o-line and Peyton not at his best we managed 12 wins. So yes, I expect to make the playoffs.

It'd be hard, but i could see 3 teams from the AFC South all make the playoffs this year.

Ah, my favorite time of year. Speculation about the imminent return of everyone's favorite gunslinger arrives every year with the spring. I, for one, welcome our new purple-wearing QB overlord.
There was a time when the thought of Favre playing for the Vikings would have sickened me. Not anymore, it's unnatural but far enough removed that I'm ok with it.
And for all you nay-sayers who want to talk about how last season ended, let me preemptively say this:
HE PLAYED THE ENTIRE SECOND HALF OF THE SEASON WITH A RUPTURED TENDON IN HIS THROWING ARM! And still almost got the lowly Jets to the playoffs.
I blame mangini

That just shows bad leadership and decision making skills. He was prepared to risk playing injured and turning it over like a hot potato, rather than letting the team rely on its running game to get the one win or whatever it was they needed out of the last 4. Plus it shows he's too old to play without hurting himself.
