The Imperial Warren was originally the house continent of K'Chain Chemalle, but long after their "extinction", Kallor built his empire on it, and deciphered and used a lot of the Chemalle's buried technology. Then he destroyed it before the three gods in the MoI prologue could get to him. Then, in the MoI prologue, K'rul volunteered to adopt the massive ruin of a continent as a part of himself (AKA a warren), because he deemed the planet young, and not fit to carry such a horrible scar. The continent is still there, but I guess K'rul just skinned the top off and transferred it into a warren. Also, in DG you see Kalam walking by some Che'malle technology.

It connects to the Nascent, not to KT. The Nascent probably drifted into it.

The main theory about the Imperial Warren is that it's the K'Chain Che'Malle Warren, possibly called Kaschan, which would be empty after the KCCM died. Of course, K'rul says that he only created it when he purified Jacuruku, so that could be wrong.

the impression I get is that it's a more or less lifeless warren and can only be used for travelling through... but no doubt someone has another theory :)

Lifeless seems to be a relative term, since people traveling through the warren tend to keep an eye out for the things that live in it. Although I don't think that we have ever seen the things, just the trails that they make.

Lifeless in that there doesn't appear to be power that can be drawn from it, at least in the way that most warrens are used, Mockra, or Thyr for instance :)

Earlier mention of Mockra - it was Calot's warren in GotM (briefly).

edit: You can't complain about MT spoilers in the MT forum. If you haven't read the book yet and don't want to see them, then you shouldn't be reading threads here, simple as that.

ye that was when each warrens aspect wasnt defined. Do you think all mages can channel their power together like that. Calot would be useless against moon spawn without tattersail so can all mages add there power to someone else if their aspect is unsuitable

Aaahh monsieur P, read Hetans post again and note the subtle humor. Be nice to the ladies and they'll return the favour with... wait. I'll stop here I think.

Edit: that was my 300th post... ugh.
