Your Favorite Character in Book 1

I get the books confused. I'm going to have to say Paran. He is the one guy I can relate to myself. I damn sure wasn't noble born though. He is just a guy making it in the world as best he can and doing what he thinks is right.
You have to admit that they are all really good though. I mean damn. These characters are unbelievable, yet by the second read you feel that you know them.
Fid and Hedge are the comic relief. Kalam the bad ass. Quick Ben Delat the mystery still to be revealed. Crokus. Now, I could go on, but I think you get the point.

Kruppe, for his way with words. (He must have been wicked fun to write!)
Followed by Quick and Rake, for sheer sexy coolness.

My favorite character from Gardens of the Moon has got to be Hairlock. He's so awesome!

My fav character in ALL the books so far has been Ganoes Paran. Y...it beats me. But I was instantly drawn to Ganoes's character, and was instantly attached to Felisin when she was introduced in the conversation between Ganoes and Tavore.

My favorite would be Kalam and his ability to kill two Tistii Anddii with only his fists and knives

WOW! a lot of votes for ol' Anomander...
However, my favorite character was definitely... ummm
Salamander Rake -> Anomander's younger, lesser-known, slightly slimy brother. I loved that part where Salamander's mom hept asking him, "Why can't you be more like Anomander?!?" Man that was so true to life.
Ok, just kidding... I really liked Paran. The fact that he is an "average-joe" in the constant company of uber-beings really allowed me to connect with his character.

Hairlock - man is hilarious and owns all out.
Whiskeyjack kicks it up too. Even though a lot of people had problems with the name, I thought it was just comical. Good guy too.

Anomander retaiins first place as the favourite. I just have to say though that whenever High Alchemist Baruk entired the scene I was raptly focused. I adore mages...though I despise Tayschrenn, I grudgingly pay him his due (wont shed any tears when he gets it I think, though it might leave me cold). But yeah, Baruk. Like Kruppe his loyalty and duty to Darujhistan was unquestionable and noble. Like Kruppe he wielded VAST unseen power. Like Kruppe, he was modest....revise that. Kruppe's true modesty lies in the 'obviousness' that he is only feigning modesty! But I wonder if he too subscribes to that obviousness or is he really in charge of every single faculty? Hmmmm....
Anyway, I really liked Baruk.
And even Hairlock (probably because he hated Tayschrenn so much)....how he would have stirred things up nicely!
Anyway, I really liked Baruk.

I have different favorite characters for different reasons.
Anomander - The man considers waging war with the strongest empire simply because he is bored.
Kalam - He is probably the mos deadly assassin ever. He underminds himself way to much though. During the Andii ass/mage battle he is hanging from the ledge and still has the strength to reach up and yank an assassin off the building with 1 hand.
Quickben - He can access 7 warrens...7!! That he also out smarts gods.
Thats my favorite in the first book. Rallick was one but he isnt the absolute favorite.

Surely, overall, Tool.
Seconds are Whiskeyjack, Kruppe, Quick Ben and Anomander Rake.

Tattersail, I think. She seemed like a fairly balanced character - powerful, but not a complete asskicker, nice, but with some major indiscretions in her past.
Followed closely by Kruppe, just for being so outragious.

Paran for me too...I was surprised to see no one on the first page had mentioned his name until I got to the one above where my post will be.
The man cheated death...what more can I say. A hero!!!

Vorcan. What kind of guts does it take to attempt to take out an entire Mage guild ? I can't wait to see more of her especially after spending time in the Azath house. Hairlock was great too - I can't resist an insane puppet.

Help
