Yeah, but did/would you have a compassionate goddess curing you?
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

When Mappo told Icarium about his crimes in DG, he was very distressed. He assented right there and then to being taken by the Azath, overwhelmed by guilt and grief.
Unless the Eres'al granted him some supernatural calm when she restored his memories (and I don't think that happened) then his temper after her touch tells me he remains ignorant of his crimes - that the Eres'al did not restore his memories.

Also, at the end he refers to Taralack Veed as "my friend", indicating that he has forgotten the earlier revelations about TV using him as a weapon. I don't think he's gained his memories back.

It was a bit ambiguous when I read the actual book, but based on the quotes posted here it seems beyond a shadow of a doubt to me that Iccy has retained at least some short-term memory. Think about it...
Iccy says that before, the Letherans were contemptous of him but now they're not. In other words, Iccy can remember how they treated him before he went nuts.
If he had gone forgetful after his rage, he would not remember that he had even met the Letherans before, let alone how they treated him. But he does remember it, and since this happened before the rage that means he should remember the rage as well. QED

When he stabs that arrow down in DG, he only loses a day. Although I'd assume that this full rage is far more severe, there is precedent for him remembering things that happened recently.

Yah, he said that he would die for Mappo in DG, so if he remembered him even a little bit you'd think he'd be searching for him even now.
Although, seeing Mappo could trigger some buried memory...but I think there's more pathos if it doesn't

Would agree with PannionDude.
Although Icarium has forgotten about Mappo (at least seems to be so) meeting him would most certainly trigger recalling him somehow.

Wouldn't it be funny if Iccy's amnesia was actually cured but he is setting himself on a collision course with Rhulad because of several reasons. Firstly, he wants it to end cause of the guilt he feels. Secondly, when conscious of his thoughts, Iccy has a high sense of justice and right- and is sensing the evil of Rhulad and the CG and thus wants to do his part to kill him. If he dies in the process then it doesn't matter, if he succeeds, then perhaps in some small way he has atoned for all that he has done. He has been used his whole life, forged into a weapon by the NO's and now that he has a choice he decides that he will see Rhulad and decide whether he will fight.
Either that, or he is still the same old Iccy driven by obscure reasons.

yeah, and he'll probably freeze right then and there when he sees Mappo. I don't believe that the relationship between and all that they're gone through would disappear like thin smoke. Seeing Mappo in person might be enough to trigger a great many things.

if we think along the inclination from Icarium's personality.... yes, that's the kind of thing he'd do. I'd hate to see Karsa crashing the party though. If Karsa and Icarium end up finishing one another, who's left to face Rhulad?

any one of the inumerable ascendants and who knows how many semi-ascendants floating round. Rake, Ruin, Osserc, who knows maybe even a god themselves, like Mael- beating Rhulad round the head. Or Kilamandros. He/She, can't remember which, likes to thump people in the head.

Heh, I would say that Scabby would be a better candidate to finish Rhulad than any of those. It would certainly be fitting, and it would make a nice redemption for Scabby.

Kilmandaros is definitely a 'she' Angel....she just sounds male (seems to be pretty tough too cracking Scabby's skull like that).
If Mael can face down the CG in terms of sorcery then I guess he could def. sort out Rhulad. In terms of martial skills however, we should not underestimate Rhulad. Not only is he amassing a horde of skills and getting better with each opponent, he's doing it as an ascendant so that introduces another multiple.
I'd sake Rake 'probably,' Silchas 'hopefully,' Osserc 'maybe'...even 'maybe not'. We really don't know that much about Osserc's abilities. He's powerful, yes, but how? Not 'how much'...'how'?

Osserc's about equal to Rake - iirc, it's mentioned that they go about 50/50 in confrontations.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

Please remind me- where was that mentioned? I only recall Mael saying that Osserc was moving to stand in Rake's way, lest he try and take on Scabandari and cause another bloodbath....

When Osserc talks to Menadore and Sukul Ankudu and just after, when Udinaas witnesses it.
