Dear dear Jen, are you now seeking to obtain Pallor's favour by distancing yourself from us ('silly') members??? Well let me just remind you of our agreement to double-cross Pallor and pass on any privy information to the rest of us ('silly') members!
Now run along you two.....and play nicely!

As long as you keep prodding Kallor through the bars( a quaint reversal methinks, the caged one being the tormentor) for tidbits than all is as normal. Yes Jen i have to agree patiance is the way to go but there is no harm in threats of violence either, last time i checked it wasn't illegal.

I don't know if this has been mentioned in this thread or not, yet, and I don't really feel like reading through 11 pages of posts to find out... Soooooooo, let's take a look at the name of the book, Reaper's Gale. Reaper... Hmmmm... Seems to me that Hood's gonna play a HUGE role in the next book, don't you think?

OR, Hood is not going to play a big part and he'll be at the receiving end...

There were these people who didn't like these other people.. and then there were some other people who were pissed off at what the first people had done. So they decided to try and take them out. Meanwhile some of the first people realised that the third people were giving them problems so they wanted to counter that, but whilst they weren't looking the second people came along and then it all went rapidly down hill for all three people. A fourth lot of people got drawn into it but that was really tough luck.
In between some serious ass was kicked and several parties got really cheesed off about it.
oh... did I forget to mention the fifth lot of people and a few other lots of peoples that came long and got mixed up in it?
It was a ripping yarn for sure.

For lack of a copy of Reaper's Gale to pore over in an attempt to decipher more of the plot, I must instead focus my attention upon the attempts to annoy the waiting Malazanites. I shall treat the comments of Hetan, Malaclypse and Kallor as if they were writing gospel, and attempt to wrest meaning from their fiendish hint dropping.
Unfortunately you haven't numbered everyone Hetan...but I'll try and make some sense of this. Then the advance readers can laugh at how far off the mark I am. Here goes:
At the beginning there is some confusion as to who is who: we have 'these people', 'these other people' and 'some other people'. I would assume that 'these people' are the ones later referred to as the first people, 'these other people' are the second people and 'some other people' are the third people.
Group 1 is probably the Edur, as they have done something (they conquered Lether, enslaved the Edur offshoots etc.) that would annoy someone else (Group 3). Now the fact that they realise that Group 3 is giving them problems suggests that Group 3 are the guerillas: thus this group does not contain Tehol*. However, we do not know as of yet who they are. Group 2 are either an unknown faction, or possibly a group of powerful Letherii that are disliked by the Edur rulers and contain Tehol - he strikes whilst the Edur are trying to counter the guerillas, thus collapsing the Edur economy. Another possibility is that they are a group of Bluerose/Andii - this would better explain the 'dislike' comment.
Group 4 could be anyone. In fact, it might be more likely that Tehol is within this sub-group: he tries to stay below the radar and plot, but as a result of the Errant's manipulations is unfortunate to be dragged into the conflict, possibly as a result of misplaced blame.
Group 5 sound most like the 14th et al., as they are newcomers to the continent of Lether.

So, how well did I do? Any comments?

Meh, this is rediculous...
*Sneaks up behind kallor* - Will you look into this adorable jewel of mine? Don't worry, it's nothing dangerous, it's not like I hypnotise people with it ...
---
I don't know when we'll see what happens on lether, but it will happen sooner or later - all I know is that RG will be amazing - and maybe it will take place on more than one continent?
As for the guerilla, I am surprised noone has mentioned that Paran is on his way to Quon Tali, after all...
And no, Kallor, you cannot deny it won't happen sooner or later...it might take him a book or two though.

Oh, I don't mind, every comment helps!
It's a bit like a game of mastermind: keep switching around the combinations and eventually I'll get close.
I'm going to stick with the Edur for Group 1 for now, and say that Group 2 are the guerillas. New guess for Group 3: remember those demons that were attacking the civilisation that the Edur took their demons from? They got angry, and are now launching a niggling assault on the Edur warlocks who control the demons. This forces the Edur mages to divert their attention from the guerillas, allowing them to strike.
A wilder guess, but I like the crazy idea.
Oh, hang on a minute, I've left out Groups 4 and 5...erm, nevermind about them for the moment, let's see if I've hit any nerves with that.
@HUME: Patience is fine if you have something better to do...but I am currently a denizen of Boredomville, so I need something to fill my time. I might as well provide some amusement for the advanced readers whilst at the same time amassing a horde of RG related info.

I must have missed this discussion. Paran is heading to Quon Tali, why? It's on Assail that the Imass is fighting the Human Tyrant. I don't remember the Storm Riders being there... refresh my memory, what's on Quon Tali?

The last I remember correct me If im wrong.
But didnt it say something like Paran saying they will be heading to Aren to never see 7 cities again.
It didnt really give any specifics as to where exactly he plans on going.

Yeah, that was my impression aswell. Parans Host could probably pop out of a deck of dragons in the middle of Lether for all we know.

Large armies dont get transported instantanously(sp?) in fantasy..Even if its in theory possible.
Reading Erikson and Jordan should have on figuring that out.

Is the "she" in your signature the Queen of Dreams? She does have a past association with Rake.
