A weapon for Trull

Cutter makes a comment to him that Seguleh aren't supposed to speak (although that just applies to those that are below their rank), and the Seguleh Second laughs and refers to it as a folly that they're still upholding (or something like that).

Take good care to keep relations civil
It's decent in the first of gentlemen

Interesting that the Soldier carried all manner of weapons, including the spear, but the three 'modern' Seguleh caried only the two swords.
As for the First, heavily structured warrior-society-cult that they are, he probably doesn't have to do anything except defend his title once in a while.
But SOMEone made a decision to send Mok and his two sidekicks into the Pannion domin, so there's definitely some politicing going on.
The more i think about that, the more i wonder whether the Soldier is perpetually Second even tho generations have passed, ie: no one has held 'Second' in centuries because he's playing perpetual Halloweener for Hood. If so, a few more ascendants show up and the Seguleh Top Ten is going to be plagued by absentiism.
Or maybe the First just beats up on people until someone does what he wants.
- Abyss, has had employers like that.

I think higher ranks can speak to lower ranks if they decide to, not the other way around. And higher ranks don't talk to outsiders. And you can hold a position if you keep the attitude low.

About the Seguleh weapons - it might just be that Mok and his brothers train only with dual long swords (family trait of the martial line). They may not be an indication of all Seguleh.
As for Trull, I thought he had acquired a Imass Spear, which would be made of stone, and since it was probably forged in the Ritual, I believe that is would have been quote powerful. Still, getting the Second's spear would be very cool!

@Hetan - ??? He refused to take the ones in the cave where Karsa knocked him and Onrack for a loop (HoC), but didn't one of the Imass make and invest him a spear on their way to the First Throne?

Thats it. The Imass offered it to him as they allied - he refused the ones in the cave because he's no thief. But he accepted the one they made for him. Trull even states that it is a little shorter than he requires for his fighting style.

Oooo... good point re: the boat sinking.... that would put the spear, at best, on the shore of otataral island.
But the coincidence of a 'spear of death' left lying around does seem like a Trull link, more than anything else. Barathol used an axe, Cutter used knives.

It may be still where it was dropped in the first place...
It's been a while since I read HoC. Is this on the same continent as where the First Throne is located?

But that's the difference... that spear was his and made for him...
My reply was based on the question of spear made in the Ritual... and this is not the case

Anyway, I think the Soldier’s spear is of a value, otherwise SE would not have stated the fact that it was left behind so explicitly. So, with the spear being the favourite weapon of Trull and the Soldier apparently having no need of his spear this would be the perfect weapon for Trull.

Trull initially refused to take a spear from the caves, but Ibra said that he'd get him one, and Trull made the comment that it was shorter & heavier than what he was used to, but it would do.

Trull really has this problem with his spears shattering, doesn't he?
I mean, i realize he's the baddest of the bad with a big point thing in his hand (no, that wasn't a double entendre), but one day he's going to realize the silly things keep breaking at REALLY bad times...
