Didn't see anything wrong with Sweden's goal, but the indirect free-kick in the box was a farce, I mean, how else would you expect the guy to defend in his own box? And then he lets the Bulgarian wall stand four yards away Me thinks the ref got stage fright...or maybe he is just crap

Afraid I do find it offensive. Hearing this at a Gooner game might not surprise me but reading it here does. Sorry.
Anyway, Chelsea after Robinho. Kezman couldn't hit a barn from five feet with a handfull of rice so I suppose it makes sense. From what I've seen of the kid he is worth all the hype.

so the norwegian series ended last night with rosenborg taking their 13th consecutive league title. think there's an istraelian country that has the record of 15 or 16 league titles in a row, but common. israel? I might be a bit biased, but I really do think the norwegian league would wipe the floor with those israelies.
but it was a close race this year and it was finally decided by better goal difference, which was really close too. I actually think vålerenga and rosenborg had the same goal difference, but rosenborg had scored more goals. so more or less every norwegian 'cept those filthy klan people let out a collective sigh when it was finally decided that rosenborg got the gold, and not those despicable oslo ****ers. think it's quite possible that the norwegian people would have taken mass suicide if vålerenga should win the series. :brynjar:
but on to tromsø! we actually ended up at the 4th spot, which, all in all, is quite well done considering we just got up from 1st division in 2002 (relegated in 2000) and were fighting against relegation again last season. but still, it's rather dissapointing since we were in the lead for almost half the season, and then had that terrible autumn. think we at least should have had that bronze medal, but loosing someone like gamst pedersen does that to a team. sad irony of it all is that he's not even on the bench in blackburn (for some oddball reason that only hughes knows, I would guess). so once again we confirms that graham souness really is a dark wizard out to destroy all that is good in this world. picks up gamsten only to flee to newcastle. I really do hate you souness.
oh yeah, and liverpool has now broken 3 legs on two matches at ewok park. someone should do some good and healthy executions in that club.

Could someone explain to me how Mellor got Man of the Match? Apart from that blinder of a goal, he did nothing all evening, always choosing the wrong option, running the wrong way, anticipating the wrong pass... Ah well, I'll not complain against anything that beats the ARSEnal...

And another thing. I forget to mention the attitude of so many of the players. You've still got throwbacks like Shearer but they're being replaced by spiceboy types who don't give a toss about winning as long as the money keeps rolling in and their disgusting carry on (roasting binge drinking brawls). These wankers play mainly for mid table/relegation fodder clubs. The Irish WC 2002 squad was a good example.Around half of them went on a week long binge in the Pacific island of Saipan when they were supposed to be acclimatising to the heavy humidity they would encounter in Japan. Needless to say thet were all playing for ordinary premiership teams. You don't get that crap in say the Bundesdliga partly because the players aren't half as spoilt, and also because they don't have the crazy drinking culture that's epidemic in UK/Irl

When you say fantasy football - do you mean football(soccer) or NFL football? I expect some are thinking one and some the other.
If anyone knows anything about fantasy football (soccer) and can set up a free league somewhere I'd be in.
Last years Malazan NFL fantasy league was pretty cool. NFL season starts in early September - I was planning on setting up a league closer to then - maybe in a couple weeks. I will post an invite for any and all who are interested.

Ah the joy of F1 seeing really really fast cars do a gazillion laps on grey asfalt in different countries. It makes me want to put on the happy happy joy joy song or sleep, sleep is probably less destructive.

So italy could ahve won that game with 100-0 if they liked, and still wouldn't have advanced. However, their poor score meant that even a 1-1 result between denmark and sweden would have sufficed.
But that being said... wonderful dive by larsson in the penalty box. And as swedish, it hurts to say this, but I wouldn't have minded if UEFA went and changed the result due to that dive. Cheaters are way too common in football today.
