I agree there, SE was pretty clear on Deathslayer being the CG. Isn't the king in chains Rhulad? Could be that I'm imagining things, but I could swear I've heard or read something to that effect.

Yeah...some people might disagree, but I think it's pretty clear that Rhulad is the King

Quote

'There's the House of Chains, and the King of that House, the King in Chains - is sitting on a throne. The scene is very dark, swallowed in shadows, except I'd swear that poor bastard is screaming. And the look in his eyes.....,,' (BH UK Tpb, p.638)

On the note of Mortal Swords, Destriants and Shield Anvils, the people who occupy these positions are not necessarily ascended and have no cards within the Deck. The occupacy of those positions does not seem to affect the pantheon/Deck much. Plus, there can be multiples of those positions as well. In particular, Togg and Fanderay seem to have a surplus of mortal champions, including the Grey Swords, the Grey Helms and the Enk'aral that takes over a Toblakai's body in HoC.

They don't have a surplus of champions. There are 2 gods sharing one position (the 'god' of war). Why can't they each have a Destriant, MS, and SA?

The Enk'aral could be a Knight in the 'house of war', a protector of the 'beast realm', or a Knight in the 'Beast House'. - Note, there is no listing of the beast house, but I think it is comming. Perhaps a haven for soletaken/d'ivers?

Is the Soldier of death really the Seguleh second? I got the impression that he had abandoned his past as a Seguleh, also as an ascendant he might be an older previous version of the second.

I seem to remember that Spite(or was it Envy?) recalled that nobody had actualy seen the first, and i wouldn't think it possible that the Seguleh second could command the Seguleh and be a pawn for Hood.

He has the mask of the second which people reckon means he either was the second and was defeated or fell and broke his neck and therefore doesn't think he deserves wearing it any longer OR he killed the second and like Rake doesn't know or care what the mask means, he just keeps it on him as a souviner(sp?).

I think the dead seguhel second is keeping the mask for the one who killed him(maybe skinner? at least i think that is why he is searching for him :))

Maybe he wants to kill SKinner in order to regain his position as the seguleh second
