Sure, Kallor used self destruct. But he did it with style:)
"I'll kill every LAST one of them rather than loose control of them."
It's so Kallor!

I would have been more impressed if he had negotiated a resolution or fought his way out of it against the three EGs.

Dessimbewacky would have sicced his pets on them. Kellanved would have negotiated or something equally clever. Kallor... hmm, can't win, can't hide, might as well push the big red button of Evil. Wimp. :p

- Abyss, has a big red button at his desk to procure emergency coffee.

Nah. A truly badass Emperor wouldn't have needed the button in the first place.

- Abyss, needs a big red button of vacation.

When does Dessim... fit in in history. Was he the very first, or after Kallor? I am so bloody confused on the matter. I believe they are both referred to as the first? If anybody could clear it up for me, I would appreciate it.

They got both their empires more or less at the same time. The 1st empire was still growing when Kallor went atomic on his continent.

The First Empire was just ahead of the Kallorian Empire, that's why it's the First :)
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Thank-you, my mind is now at ease. Seriously, it has been bugging me for to long a time. It didn't occur to me that their empires could have been at the same time, silly me.

In prologue MoI, it mentiones in K'rul's point of view that the 1st has been around centuries (or millenia; I forgot, but it was a long time) before Kallor's came around. And I think it was still running when Kallor's self-destructed. Meaning the 1st sandwiches Kallor's.

But still, Kallor's tyrrany made high mages spring a trap and bring down the deadliest god ever known to this planet, just to oppose the bastard. He's responsible for the total destruction of two continents. The damn guy brought the attention of three Elder Gods, just to curse his name. He's the elite, first-rank badass of any emperor.
