Dassem has a daughter, thanks to sources more reliable than my hole riddled brain I understand shes dark skinned and at least part dal honese so do we have any prospective mothers? Is there a mother 0_o?
I just thought our well read members may have noticed a few clues or something.
*Looks at Hetan and Imperial historian, probes dark corners for pallor...*
Anyways we've summarily ruled out Blend or picker for given reasons as well as laseen...Maybe she could be from seven cities?

Been a dead thread and I guess we just don't know enough to answer WHO mrs Ultor is exactly. Incidentally can someone 1) explain how dassem could be a rival 2 hood? how do you beat a God with a sword? and 2) Why exactly was Dassems daughter in a house of the Azath?

No idea on 1), unless number of worshippers = power of warren, and you'd pray to the god of death to look after your loved ones in your grief, except that there's a whole new god of grief you can pray to for help. Or something.
As for 2), maybe Dancer put her in there, to keep her 'fresh', in lieu of a better word; as a favour to an old friend.

Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I gather Dassem took her there after the chaining. To preserve her, I guess. He might go after Hood to get her soul back..... Who knows?

Dassem Ultor... Dessembrae, Lord of Tragedy, Hoods' Champion .... and an ascendant whose power had grown to rival Hood's own..
how do ascendants gain power?
from followers/worshippers. iirc there was a cult in his name wasn't there?
Set'alahd Crool answered the second part of your question. Perhaps Dassem didn't want the worms to eat her... or perhaps he has something else in mind

So her being in the azath was a ploy to keep her alive and safe. That makes sense though I still can't see how being "lord of tragedies and /hoods champion," as hetan said, has any abilities to rival hoods own aspect of death which can't possibly be on the same level...

she's not alive.. as far as we know
Power has many aspects...
after all, Hood may be an ascendant with his own worshippers.. and Dessembrae the same.. it's possible it's the strength of the that worship...? Dassem was adored... I can't think Hood is
seriously it's just idle speculation on my part and perhaps we'll find out more later... one can but hope

Maybe kellenved or dancer kidnapped dassems daughter as a hostage (grasps hopelessly at these straws) to stop dassem killing them for revenge. Maybe he felt vengeful against them as they left him instead of maybe making him an ascendent or maybe when he was hoods knight hood ordered him to kill shadowthrone but kellenved predicted this and got a hostage. yabe this is what split the bond beetween hood and dassem and maybe thats why hes lord of tragedy

it's quite clear that it was Hood's taking of his daughter at the chaining that made Dassem release his vow/pact, and has nothing whatsoever to do with Kellanved and Dancer

Yup. And as far as we know ther was no split between Dassem and the other two. They weren't exactly friends, but they never became enemies either.

How do we know that they never became enemies. We know they change when they ascend (like cotillion not trusting shadowthrone but trusting kellenved) so they could have fell out. Shadowthrone seems to be nervous around dassem ultor or travellor

I remember Cottilion saying he only trusted one person in life and that was Dassem ultor. How that kind of relationship could go wrong I don't know. I guess dassem is trying to get his daughters soul back which makes me wonder how he plans to do it if he hangs around to protect the throne of shadow...

I know They never fell out because I've got NoK. Best I can do without spoilers.
@Dolmen
Apsalar said that Dancer trusted two people in life:Kelanved and Dassem. Then she changed her mind and said Dancer only trusted one and that was Kelanved, indicating that Dassem never really had his complete trust.

The First Sword was Dassem Ultor.
The Sword are the others who made up his elite backup force.

Yeh but is it only a few blokes who are semi crimson guard standard skill. Whenever it was talked about i thought it was an elite army like the second or something. I wasnt aware it was a handful of men that just cut throgh armies

More like 'a handful of men who gave Dassem space, while HE cut through armies'.
Well, they did more than that, but you know what I mean.
