Finished Chronicles of Amber, started the Riftwar Saga.

I swear I am going to go hyde on the next bastard that brags about reading FoD. Screw you tea-sucking, cake-crunching bigots!

I'm reading The Cattle Raid of Cooley (Táin Bó Cúailnge). I want to learn a little more about Cuchulainn.

I'm surprised you don't have yours yet Abyss...I mean if mine made it to Canada on Tuesday, I would imagine yours would too...unless you live in TimBukFlinFlon, Northern Alberta or something and some bastard in a two-seater Cessna on pontoons has to bring it to you...

Thought he lived in Quebec. Everything takes longer in French.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

Mine has two more books with it... i suspect the extra weight moved it down a shipping category or something equally idiotic.

That and it's probably being used to beat confessions out of 'rebels' in Syria.

Finally finished Tigana. Boy howdy, was that good. I knew early on it was going to be a 4-star book, but that ending kicked it up to 4.5 easy. Some (incredibly manly) tears may have welled up there.

After taking a few minutes to let that soak in, I started in on F. Paul Wilson's The Keep, the first book in his Adversary Cycle. I've already read the second book, The Tomb, which doubles as the first Repairman Jack book.
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

GGK has that talent to make you cry them manly tears don't he?

Abyss, methinks your copy of FOD is currently being held at the Castle Of Brumwald on the Austrian German border, they have many tapestries, and they are looking to use your copy to make such a tapestry.

I'm fairly sure i saw it being carried by one of Assad's aides in a recent news clip. I'm just hoping he finishes it quickly and lends it to Ahmadinejad so i can arrange for a Mossad snitch to acquire it and pass it off during a blind drop in Morocco.

In the meantime Zafron's ANGEL'S GAME is more than holding my attention. Damn but the man can write!

How are you with the darker tone? It took a bit for me to adjust to it, but yeah Zafon's writing carries you through even the darker bits.

Am only about 100 pages in but I'm good with the tone, SHADOW wasn't exactly light and fluffy for most of the book.

He has a way of writing 'dark' that lets the reader know it will get better, so to speak.

And i'm beginning to put his use of words up there with Gaiman... almost EVERYTHING operates on multiple levels. Like SHADOW it's incredible to read.

Finished Twelve by Jasper Kent. This was entertaining. Not the best book I've ever read, but I am very muchly interested in obtaining the sequels.

Think it's finally time that I got The Black Prism off my trp. It's only been in it since it was released.

I am nearly finished with GOOD OMENS and I have to say, I'm disappointed.

...that I didn't read this earlier! It's surprisingly easy to distinguish between what I call the Pratchett sections and the Gaiman sections, and, far from being irritating, it actually enhances the narrative. AMERICAN GODS got me hooked on the god/mythology thing and I love how it's been applied here :) And Crowley is one smooth mofo! I give this book a cool out of yes :)

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

Good Omens and Lamb are the only two books I've read more than three times. F'n love me some Pratchett/Gaiman collaboration. Would love for them to do it again.

I know right?! SO good. Pratchett and Gaiman together were absolute MAGIC.

half-way down to The Blade Itself and I'm liking every chapter and page of it,
i like how Logen interacts w/ Glokta and how Glokta interacts with everyone else,
my reading has been slow these days as busy days kept me from reading continously,
after I finish, i'll be reading Beyond the Shadows next,
It's not who I am underneath.. but what i do that defines me - Batman, Batman Begins; 'Without our deaths, sir, there would be no crime. Thus, no punishment to match,' 'Mortal Sword - '
'We are done, my friend. Now, in this manner, we choose the meaning of our deaths' - Mortal Sword Brukhalian to Veteran Nilbanas, siege of Capustan
'Ippen shinde miru (want to try dying this once) ?' - Jigoku Shoujo (Hell Girl)
