Just re-read a few of my Dick Francis collection - Straight, 10lb Penalty & To The Hilt. Having a bookshelf means getting caught up in books I haven't had out of boxes in years

Now reading The Da Vinci Code by whatshisname

Perdido Street Station - very involved read...the end depresses me already as I know what happens...

1421 - The Year China discovered the World...great narrative history account.

Just finished: Rubicon: Triumph & Tragedy of the Roman Republic - also great narrative history...Caesar really was a flash git, and the others before him like Sulla and Cicero just show-ponies if you ask me!!

I've finished the Dark Tower series. The ending reminded me of PSS, in that I can't decide whether it was a travesty or a work of genius...

I'm on my 2nd re-read of MBotF.

I'm on Memories of Ice, and I keep remembering certain things with more clarity....I tell ya it's embarrasing having leaky eyes on a bus over a book Posted Image

Just finishing off "DarknessThatCB" Good stuff, if a trifle heavy on the exposition.

Just returned from a few days in Oxford, where I bought the "ORCS" trilogy on a whim. Not my usual sort of buy, but I fancied some light reading before attacking a few weightier Tomes.

Anyone read it ? "Orcs" that is!

Reading: Dune. Again Posted Image

@snake
The fact that they named it that in America causes me almost physical pain *shudder*

@Pale Gumshoe:How's it going? Remember the conversations well, always interesting.

@Northran: If you haven't read it before, you'll love Guards!Guards! It brings in some of his best characters.

I've started re-reading the hitchhikers Guide collection. Still as good as I remember. Great stuff. Also just finished The Da Vinci Code, interesting book.

The ending is a bit abrupt, some poeple hate, some think it's a great conclusion. I'm one of the latter personnally.

Right now I'm finishing up The One Kingdom by Sean Russel which I started ages ago but forgot about when some new release that I was highly anticipating came out.

Reading the collected "Preacher" by Garth Ennis.Just bought a few novels by Vernor Vinge.

Still reading "DA Vinci Code"....with it's ever so annoying "cliff hangers"..hackneyed prose. Ridiculous plot twists ,that even Scooby Doo would run in shame from.I'm just waiting for the baddie to rip of his mask shouting.."If it wasn't for you meddlin kids' ".

Have to finish it tho'.
