been reading my European History book lately, which is actually interesting...if you like history. besides that i started the Commie Manifesto today, as well as Dostoevsky's "Notes From the Underground"

Just going through a James Barclay reread session of all the books to date, about to restart Demonstorm 
After that not sure, probably a daft book such as That Book (sequel to This Book) which is just chockablock with useless facts.

Now reading quite possibly the most boring book I've ever had the misfortune to be forced to read.

im reading The Riddled Night by Vallery Leith which is the sequel to the company of glass also got the third book as well which is called the way of the rose

Dead Famous - Ben Elton. The only author outside of sci-fi or fantasy I consistantly read, except Robert Harris. Verry funny man, and he knows how to devise a plot too. The fact that I worked out who did it half way through was a shame... too clever for my own good

I'm reading a lot of tremendous boring and badly written stories/books/articles about a game series, to get more info, ideas and general feel of the game I'm in a team making a tribute for.
I wish people writing fan fiction on the web would make that absolutely clear, so I don't have to read bunch of unecessary stuff that's not based on facts learned in the game before realising it's just based in the same world and probably with hundreds of fact misconceptions.

@ Duiker. Not read the book, but the film of "Contact" is excellent...despite it's cast of Jodie Foster and Matthew Mconaghey (sp).
Still reading Gene Wolfe's "Shadow of the Torturer".Also few old school graphic novels ; ie "Shade The Changing Man" by Pete Milligan.

Just went and borrowed a whole bunch of books from the library yesterday, ranging from light sci-fi (Star Trek, BAEN compendium) to epic fantasy (re-reading CoT till I get my hands on NS) to modern literature ('The Crimson Petal and the White' by Michael Faber) to classic literature (George Eliot's 'Middlemarch'). Starting with Faber.

Reading : "Bad Timing", a novelisation of the classic 2000AD character "Strontium Dog". Good light fun, but for 2000AD fans only.
Just finished Poul Andersons "Bog Sword" a SF/Bronze age Time travel thing.Curious and touching tale ,from the late great man.

Just finsihed The Maltese Falcon. Nothing to get excited about, although probably it was a mile ahead of the pack when it wa first published, being the first hard-boiled detective story (gumshoe is the term?).
Now reading: The Rule of Four by Ian Caldwell and some other guy. Supposed to be something akin - but not a lame copy of - The Secret History, which was v. cool.
