Help
Im about 200 pages into "Evolution" by Stephen Baxter. It's OK, but it lacks (so far) any real "characters" and plot. I hate not finishing a book, but this ones takin me a while.

Currently reading the Witches of Chiswick by Robert Rankin. Shaping up as a bit of a weird book but then again there is some weird humour there as well.

Solzhenitsyn is pretty awesome, man. I read his "A Day in the Life of Ivan Devanovitch." I think it was called...

I always forget to post in here for some reason.
I've read Club Vampyre by some Laurell person, which was relatively enjoyable.
The Great Hunt and The Dragon Reborn, which were pretty good.
Cowl, which was all right, and had a very interesting premise, as do all Asher's books. I did get the feeling that if I actually spent the time to get my head all the way around his funny time-travel ideas there would be gaping holes in the logic...
And I'm reading The Family Tree, by Sheri S. Tepper, which is good so far.

Really enjoying Cloud Atlas, and also starting a re-read of the Dune series, prompted by seing one of the millions of TV versions, where I was sure their eyes were wrong. Not enough blue. I live a sad life

Well, i found a signed copy of runes of the earth and couldnt resist.
And its better in every way than earlier volumes except one.
It doesnt have covenant in it. Linden is much more bearable than in previous books even though her constant wailing about foul having her son does get annoying half way through.
Still, she cant stand up to covenenant.
The ending leaves hope for an even better second volume, though.

Just finished Duncan's 'The Gilded Chain'. Not the best fantasy ever, but i'm hooked enough to go grab the next book in the series.

Back from holiday, and I read:
The Burning Stone and The Gathering Storm, by Kate Elliot, which are still sort of bouncing along interestingly enough for me to read them,
Wanderers and Islanders (Steve Cockayne), which was a bit confusing, but The Iron Chain made a few more connections, and hooked my interest in this series,
War in Heaven. Big Zindell ramble. Fun
Feersum Endjinn (Banks), which was alright, but I somehow felt as though I missed the ending....
Tales From Earthsea, which I loved,
And The Portrait of Mrs. Charbuque, which I also liked a lot.
Now I'm reading the Great Hunt, but I'm not halfway yet and I've found out its due in tomorrow and someone has a hold

@brood - dammit u mentioned the first farseer book, so i had to go read it again didnt i? as good as i remembered. but now i have started to read the others...and i have exams next week!!! grr!
@morgoth - humph i still aint too pleased with you. but u hve reminded me to go and read legends 2 now thanks
and i know this is gona be a rather weird question, but has anyone seen a copy of the tenth nightworld book by L.J.Smith? i know its an immature book, but my friends and i are miffed coz apparently it aint coming out over here
any ideas, anyone?

Just got The Ghost King by Gemmell.
I have just finished The Legend of Deathwalker by the same author.... what can I say Gemmells books are heroic nonsence but great to read on the train on the way to work :-)

Am reading "Hello Missus; A Girl's Own Guide To Foreign Affairs". It's a memoir by an Australian journalist who went to East Timor for the UN. Quite interesting and funny

Just finished reading "Broken Angels" by Richard Morgan, now reading both "Market Forces" by the same author, and re-reading A Game of Thrones, for a book club that ACTUALLY BOTHERS TO VOTE!!!
