Just finished to re-read The Gunslinger. I must confess that when I read it for the first time I was not impressed at all. I have decided to re-read it after I have read the first 4 books and it was much more interesting. I think the reason behind it is that I have got to know Roland better from the book 4 - Wizard and Glass, about his past. It helped to understand The Gunslinger.
Now I am back to Drizzt, reading Exile, book 3 of the Dark Elf trilogy.

Cry of the Newborn by James Barclay really good so far am really enjoying it. Much better than his other series. Much more massive in scale and better written, but still keeps the excitment going throughout the book.

Just finished Neal Asher's Skinner - I would not want to live on Spatterjay!
I really enjoyed Skinner...although I should probably have started from the first Polity novel (Gridlocked, is it?)
Next up:
Pashazade by Jon Courtney Grimwood
Only Revolutions by Mark Z. Danielewski

Grindlinked:) And yes, I made the same mistake, and though it doesn't really matter too much in this case, its a good idea to read them in order. Skinner kind of has two series going though, based in the same universe. Gridlinked, Line of Polity, Polity Agent (and possibly a few others - the guy writes so damn fast it's easy to lose track) are one arc, and The Skinner, Brass Man and The Voyage of Sable Keetch are the other.
Plus a few stand-alones;)

Rereading World War Z, by Max Brooks, just after having bought it yesterday. The last book I did that with was The Bonehunters. It kicks ass.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

just finished the thousandfold thought by R.scott Baker am now on book 3 of The Black Company by Glenn Cook. Must say they are quick reads (I only started book 1 last week) but enjoyable non the less. An obvious pre curser to SE if I may be so bold (though SE without a doubt has taken it to a new level in the military stakes as well as littery, havre I creeped enough now?)
