Finished Fugitive Prince Book 5 of Wars of Light and Shadow. This series keeps on getting better.

Also finished Joe McDermott's Fortress at the End of Time. Bad read, waste of time.

Well, I have finished book 3 and I actually kind of got 3 out of the 4 of these! Pretty good going!

Really enjoyed the series thanks for the recco, Macros and others.

Just debating what to read next. Thinking Lightbringer but I'm not sure I want to start an incomplete series...

Needed a comfort read, so I decided it was time for a Riyria re-read. It's funny reading THE CROWN CONSPIRACY after having already read the series once and picking up all the subtle hints to future reveals...plus with one of the prequel series books (which tells history we thought we knew differently) under my belt, that adds a further layer to the proceedings. It's all very enjoyable.

And then last night "Alden Dennis Weer, random storyteller extraordinaire" took over, and I found myself swept up in the narrative again. Cool thanks. I have a few books as I was given some for my birthday so I'll probably stick with them before buying new ones. (Abyss probably thinks of this as heresy or something...)

I think I have read some Scarrow it was decent IIRC but I liked Connect Iggulden more I think. It was a while ago so I can't quite remember.

The smallest of the books I have currently lined up is called The Man Called Thursday or something by GK Chesterton. Looks really interesting tbh so may read that first.

Yep. I didn't read anything about it before diving in. Also, there's another new main character. Not sure of her relationship to the story just yet.

Finished "Dark Tide's Rising". Unfortunately, the mmpb for "Stealers' War" is not out till August, so gonna shelve the series for now. As you may have guessed, I want o read more, so I liked this one. It started in turbo-bleak mode which threw me off for a bit, but then it mixed the dark with good action and plot twists, and ended quite strong, setting up a good ending.

Next up for commute it feels like it's time to go back to Django Wexler, so "Price of Valor" is gonna be the next read.

Finished the first half of Shadow & Claw. It wasn't big on forward motion (deliberately, no doubt, given the gate-to-gate imagery), so I don't have much to say about the plot so far, but I can see why people love Wofle's writing. It's not the thesaurus thing, it's that this guy is a hilarious weirdo. It's very dream-like in parts, and I'm keeping in mind the unreliable narrator thing, but I'm still wondering if/how all this stuff adds up.

It's been slow-going so far though, so I'm gonna read Mr. Shivers by R.J. Bennett before doing the Claw part, just as a boost of adrenaline.

I just finished Gumnetal Magic. This one was a bit heavy on the romance and romantic drama for my tastes. I mean it's always astound in the background of the Kate books, but it was front and center here. Outside of that complaint, it was a solid adventure for Andrea and I liked seeing more of the Black Volv. 3/5 on this one.

Next up I'm continuing the Dresden listen with Cold Days.

I just finished Heroes Die, and moved on to Blade of Tyshalle. Loved the first one, he really doesn't stop at anything. So far it's sort of a shock seeing Caine/Hari being less badass and more feel-bad-for-self-ass. But I have faith, he's mothertrucking Caine after all.

And be warned, BLADE is going to take you down a very different, much darker path than HEROES. It's jarring, as you're already seeing.
