Finished The Prince of Thorns over the weekend. It was good but I'm not quite ready to jump on the hype train. I found myself forgetting who some of the characters were--luckily I had my Kindle and could easily search the names. Still very good for a debut but no Lies of Locke Lamora IMO.

Finally got time this weekend to start Furies of Calderon only about a quarter of the way through, but if this is the weakest of the series as some say then it won't be hard to get through at all.

It has its moments, but i still think the series is worthwhile.

About 60 or so pages into perdido street station and while nothing much has happened yet, it's oddly gripping and I just want to keep reading!

3/4 done with the last book in the Acacia trilogy. Just wondering what to read afterwards, Will it be the traitor queen, the air wars or the city of ruin. Or parhaps just concentrate on the forthcoming exams.

Tregillis' THE COLDEST WAR. What amazes me about this series is that it is grimmer than grim, damaged people in bad situations doing desperate things they will regret horribly, yet the author keeps it compelling and through the sf elements nicely balaced with a 'reality' element. I don't think i've seen paranormal espionage handled this well before.

Looking ahead, two weeks to a dresdencrack fix with COLD DAYS....
...then a Malaz fix from ICE w BLOOD AND BONE,
then WoT wraps (sort of) w MEMORY OF LIGHT,
and THEN i'll hit Abercrombie's RED COUNTRY,
and after that Warren Ellis' GUN MACHINE.

I may not sleep again until February sometime.

I'm about 3/4 of the way through Toll the Hounds now. Still loving it. I'm hoping to finish Dust and Crippled God by the end of January so I can start reading other stuff though. lol
