Finished Cancer Ward by Solzhenitsyn. The first half read like First Circle Light but it really picked up towards the end. Great book.

And also I'm struggling through Stalingrad by Anthony Beevor. It's a really good book but I have no love for war-books heavy on detailed information and figures about armies and such.

i love reading sci fi and fantasy but it is forbidden to me at the moment...I have to rad classics to prepare myself for uni interviews! bah!

Great threads, those.. only drawback is that after reading it I ended up ordering 11 books.. play.com makes it too easy
Anyways, I just finished The Warrior-Prophet.. truly brilliant book. Going to read Gates of Fire or War Junkie next..

I've read quite a few things since I last posted... The Gunslinger, which was ok; King Rat, which was better than usual Mieville on the ending; and Lord of Light, by Zelazny, which was interesting and reminded me a bit of Ilium...

I'm still reading Gardens of the Moon. I'm trying to balance taking my time with it and reading it as fast as I can.

Guy de Bryan is the perfect gentle knight. Bur when he sees Elizabeth, he knows that what he feels is anything but courtly love. It is an emotion so strong that it will lead him into mortal danger and change the course of both their lives. During a perilous journey across the freezing Alps, his secrets torment him, until a young squire begins to draw out what has been hidden for so long: a tale of murderous deception, rivalry and deep passion.

Just started the aforementioned "Cloud Atlas". Just finished the first person's part. Pretty darn good so far, though I don't know where it's heading yet. Engaging from the start though
