I finished "The Tower of Shadows" by Drew Bowling. I have to say that I am rather disappointed by this novel and although the author shows talent for writing his novel is not exactly what I am looking for in a reading (my full review).

Just finished Carrie Vaughn's Kitty and the Dead Man's Hand.

This fifth volume is another fun and entertaining addition to what is a cool urban fantasy series!

Check out the blog for the full review. :p

read "The Blade itself"

Enjoyed it, wasn't too mind-blowing, but i'm curious to see wher he'll go with this.
must admit, unlike most, one of my favourite chars was Major West.
I'm looking forward to the War in the North and Glokta's story more than the main plotline, I think.

now reading "Stormcaller" by Tom lloyd

Stop! Put Stormcaller down slowly onto the table. Go wash your hands. Pick up another book and spare yourself the pain and the misery.

well.. no.. But even though cancer is nastier, I'd hardly want to be inflicted with gonorrhea either.

Finished Gemmell's Legend last night. Awesome book. I haven't quite decided what to read next, though...
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

Just started "The Bonehunters"...heard its not bad ;)

Also reading John Sanford "Dark of the Moon" (which I understand is essentially written by Larry Millet)...fairly formulaic, but doesn't hurt my brain to read...

Empire in Black and Gold, by Adrian Tchaikovsky. Saw it in Borders today, and looked quite interesting.

'Empire in Black and Gold' is very cool ;)

I've just finished reading Daniel Fox's 'Dragon in Chains', a book that veered between completely getting me into the world/story and completely turning me off by going on about it so much. It makes up for this though with plenty of action and a bloody huge dragon! My full review is over Here. I'm now getting into Peter S. Beagle's short story collection 'We never talk about my brother'...

_Guns, Germs, and Steel_ and _Collapse_ are excellent books, well worth reading. Diamond has a very easy, readable style, and draws you into his argument gently. He may be, after Matt Ridley, my favourite popular science author. (But no one can touch Matt Ridley.)

Just finished _Bad Science_ by Ben Goldacre, and _Corrupted Science: Fraud, Ideology and Politics in Science_ by John Grant. The two work very well together.

Currently reading _Industrial Revolutionaries: The Creators of the Modern World_ by Gavin Weightman. Good stuff so far. John 'Iron Mad' Wilkinson -- I wish I had a nickname as cool as 'Iron Mad'.

Not much fantasy or skiffy on the horizon atm. Though have got Charles Stross's _The Merchant's War_ on order, so that's up next. And I'm pretty sure I bought Carey's _Kushiel's Dart_ at some point, but am buggered if I can find it. ;)
It is perfectly monstrous the way people go about nowadays saying things against one, behind one's back, that are absolutely and entirely true.

I've just finished Peter Beagle's short story collection 'We never talk about my brother'. As with any collection of short stories it didn't all hit the spot but there was plenty there to leave me feeling glad that I picked it up. My full review is over Here.
I'm now switching back and forwards between Jonathan Green's 'Human Nature' and Kate Griffin's 'A Madness of Angels'...

1/5 of the way through Gene Wolfe's The Knight, and it's very good. There really doesn't seem to be anything spectactular about it, but at the same time, I can't put it down.

Just finished GRRM's A Clash of Kings

Pretty fucking badass. Nuff said.

looking very much forward to reading book 3 in that series to see what becomes of Bran, Jon and the Lannisters. I've read some minor spoilers of book 3 and it sounds like some pretty rad shit goes down.

Now reading Engineer trilogy book 1 and liking it.

I've just finished reading Jonathan Green's 'Human Nature', the continuing adventures of gentleman adventurer Ulysses Quicksilver in a modern day steampunk British Empire. While it's a predictable read it's also a lot of fun and I'm up for more. My full review is over Here.
I'm reading Kate Griffin's 'A Madness of Angels' but I thought I'd also pick up Gav Thorpe's 'Malekith' as a quick read to take me up to the weekend...
