I am re-reading GotM (and a complete Malazan world re-read) and have some honest questions about Kruppe.
Unless it's a GotMism, it states that Kruppe "opened his Warren", yet as far as I can tell, there is NO mention of which Warren it is. There is also no mention of his Warren in the fan Wiki.
I propose that he is a High Mage of Mokra. I just read the passage where Kruppe delivers the masks for Simtal's the Gederonne Fete to Murillio, and he completely dispells Murillio's revelation that he discovered that Kruppe is the Eel. This, to me, just screams Mockra.
A second instance comes with the showdown with Brood. Everyone is amazed that he was entirely untouched when Brood smote him with his hammer (causing Burn to twitch in her sleep and cause all kinds of seismic disturbances). He could simply have been a projection, with him safely ensconsed in the mess tent eating pastries and drinking Dujek's wine.
Thoughts?

Interesting. I genuinely can't recall that. Then again you could fill a series of books with all the details I don't remember. :p

Can you provide a page link, or even a few paragraphs as a context quote? I don't have a digital version of GotM so can't do an easy search.
