As we are all starving for Malazan content, I have been reading some other series (a couple of them mentioned in the "Space Opera" thread), and have found a few characters who would fit in absolutely perfectly in the Malazan world.
The first is a character from R.M Meluch's series "Tour of the Merrimack", the US Marine named Kerry Blue. Aside from her being a Marine, I feel that she culd have been a character in almost every Marine/Bridgeburner/Bonehunter squad. If you know the series, you know the character. She is extremely "friendly".
Another one is Thrawn. No need to explain anything, but imagine him as a Hagh Fist on a continent. Grand Admiral, High Fist, poTAYto, poTAHto...
What other characters can you come up with and why?

A comment i made about the Merrimack series early on was that it was the closest i had ever read to the Malazan 'eclectic misfit goofball marines who are also stone cold effective fighting machines'.

Thrawn... Thrawn would be an uber-villain in any setting. He's got that immaterial mix of competence and civility and threat so many of the best villains have (Ozymandias from THE WATCHMEN, Xanatos from GARGOYLES, Magneto from the various XMen formats....). Just imagine him matching strategies against Tavore.

Lan from WoT would fit right in as a classic master swordsman whose honorable tendencies are challenged by brutal realities. Him and Dassem would have a lot to talk about.

Garet Jax from SHANNARA, i mean, if ever there was a character who should kick back and have a beer with Kalam after a tough day killing monsters it's him.

The entire cast of Du Castell's MALEVOLENT SEVEN would be a joy to read in a Malazan setting.

Virtually any of the characters from Glen Cook's Dread Empire series (Ragni, Haroun, Mocker, etc.). It always gets overshadowed by The Black Company, but Dread Empire is the other major Cook influence on Malazan. Kruppe is essentially Cook's character Mocker with the serial numbers filed off. He's like what if Kruppe was a master swordsman, complete with unique verbal delivery. Mocker meeting up with Kruppe and Iskaral Pust would be something.

Maybe Stewie and Brian from Family Guy. I can picture them seeing a T'lan Imass walk by and Stewie saying "What the deuce!" while Brian goes hog wild at all the bones (it's funny when he does normal dog stuff).
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

If we're going in that direction I want the whole Scooby Doo gang and i specifically want a two minute musical sequence where they run through various doors being chased by Gryllen and/or the Hounds.

While we're at it, i want the T'lan F'lintstones.

Also, Shrek. ....dear gods the things I could do with a Malazan/Shrek crossover..... Shrek and Donkey going to Moon's Spawn by accident instead of Fiona's castle, Donkey meeting a Mule of Shadow, Fiona hanging out with Hetan, Puss meeting Murillio, Gingy joining the Seguleh by accident...

Thrawn could also be cast as a Napan, because of his blue skin. ANOTHER megalomaniacal Napan...

Shrek and Donkey - why do I get the feeling that Donkey would end-up carrying both Iskarl AND Kruppe and joining the conversation?
Richard from "Looking For Group". A psychotic, undead, gender-changing/bending/swapping Warlock/High Mage. And Pella (NOT the one from Skullcap) could either be a Marine or a Heavy, but my money's on Heavy. Benn'Joon will heal you, but make you wish she didn't...

Puss: Those are Seguleh. Whatever you do, do not meet their eyes.

Gingy: Hey why are they wearing those funny masks? What do all those marks mean? Why is that guy staring at me? Uh oh Puss i think i yes i met his eyes Puss he's coming over here what do i do Puss what do i do????

Puss: Unfortunately my friend, you have challenged him to a duel and must now defeat him in single combat. I will be over here having a drink if you need any help.

Gingy: I need any help!

Puss: Very sorry. I am drinking.

Seguleh: *draws sword, lunges*

Gingy: *jumps back as fast fast as he can with all his gingerbread man fast, narrowly dodges, loses a gumdrop button*

Seguleh: *slips on button, stabs himself through the chest, dies*

Other Seguleh: Welcome to the Agatii, you are now Thirteenth. Claim your mask.

Gingy: Umm... Could i just not?

Other Other Seguleh: Then we would all have to fight you to reclaim it.

Gingy: Right! Claiming mask now. *reaches out, taps mask on dead Seguleh*

OOSeguleh: Come, we leave now.

Gingy: Yes! Coming!!! *yanks mask off dead Seguleh, holds it over his head, kind of looks like a seguleh turtle, shuffles after them.*

John Wick as a Talon.Nazgul in Shadow. Hounds as their mounts? Connor MacLeod of Clan MacLeod as Segulah First, because "There can be only One."

I really want to put G'Kar and Londo Molari in, but I can't figure out where.

Highlander/immortal Ramirez would be more fun tho'.

G'kar and Londo... i dunno, maybe some warren links to their homeworlds and they show up squabbling in Meanas one day. A Shadow incursion into Malazan would be pretty funny. They would probably run shrieking like little shadow spider children after about 20 minutes.

Vicki from Small Wonder except she has swords for arms.

The Golden Girls would work better.
With or without swords for arms.

Dungeon Crawler Carl would probably fit in just nicely with a few of the sappers.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

Imagine Quick Ben as a "Special Circumstances" agent in "The Culture" universe?(Crap - now I'm thinking of QB becoming a "Mind" with access to 12 Warrens...)
Hood vs Death in Discworld?
